Remote Work Details: Open for any region but ideally EU timezone since the team are largely UK-based. Other regions will be considered if working hours can coincide with business hours. Preferably with English as a first language or as a fluent second language.
Qualifications: Experience with digital publishing, general SEO knowledge and ideally some guide writing experience at a gaming media website.
Pay Structure: This is an ongoing, regular contract, paid monthly, depending on how many hours are agreed on with both parties. There is no arbitrary quota to meet for word count, articles created etc.

To achieve this, we are seeking a Database Manager / Maps Editor who shares our passion for gaming and possesses an unwavering commitment to detail and quality.

Position Overview

We are in search of an individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional concentration skills, and a commitment to curate our existing databases while continuously adding new data to enhance our content for new and existing games. The role primarily involves identifying missing data, ensuring data accuracy, and using this information to update new and current interactive maps, contributing to the enrichment of the gaming experience for our users.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare data from various sources, including first-hand research and user feedback, and subsequently verify and import it into our databases.
• Organize and format data to ensure it is readily usable.
• Develop database layouts and fields using our proprietary CMS (Content Management System).
• Take ownership of specific databases to maintain long-term accuracy through patches, DLCs, and other updates.
• Create Interactive maps using our proprietary tools. This involves adding accurate location pins for a variety of relevant categories, depending on the game and providing further details and screenshots to better direct users.
• Gain first-hand knowledge to help facilitate this work by playing the target game.
• Working with other team members to incorporate their feedback and information they have gathered themselves.

Required Skills

• Basic Proficiency in spreadsheet software, such as Google Sheets.
• Efficiently produce new content pages in our database while upholding high-quality standards and accuracy.
• Familiarity with tools that streamline content creation processes, such as photoshop, Google Suite software, PowerShell and any other relevant software. Note: this does not mean AI such as ChatGPT.
• Basic knowledge of markdown code and CMS.

Experience

• Basic experience editing or moderating gaming wikis or similar content platforms.
• Familiarity with popular games like Conan Exiles, Baldur’s Gate 3, Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, Scarlet and Violet, Diablo IV, and others.
• Basic knowledge of SEO principles, including E-A-T (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness), headings, titles, meta descriptions, and more.
