You have been asked to return to the ancient ruins, investigate the monsters that run amok there, and remove the danger. Head to the deepest reaches of the ruins in 
Charred Passage, 
Aery Passage, the 
Lefeya Drifts, 
Fallow Steppe, 
Pritta Ridge, 
Ahrvet’s Pasture, the 
Khaswia Moors, and the 
Zawhak Desert, and defeat the Nemeses that lurk there.

You defeated the monsters in each of the ruins and returned to the historian to confer the news. He thanked you profusely and spoke at length of his love for the ancient civilizations of this world. Henceforth, he will surely break new ground with his research, and the lives of the ancients will finally be understood.
