First things first, your native fruit is the fruit that grows on your town’s fruit trees as soon as you start the game. There are five types of native fruit: apples, cherries, oranges, peaches and pears.

Fruit native to your town is not worth as much so it’s best to hoard this and take it to a friend’s town to sell for 500 bells per piece. There is an exception though, if you continue reading…

It helps to keep your fruit trees close together.

Perfect Fruits

Sometimes you’ll find a perfect piece of native fruit; it will look slightly different to normal fruits, so keep your eyes peeled (perfect pears are golden, for instance).

At the start of the game, you will find some perfect fruits growing in town already, so keep them safe and don’t sell them straightaway (a lot of people make this mistake)!

Perfect fruit can only be grown in your town so plant it to make a tree which produces perfect fruit. You can then take your perfect fruits to other towns to sell for 3000 bells each.

The perfect fruit tree will die after about six harvests but you can just grow more yourself, so long as you have a spare perfect fruit.

Foreign Fruits

Visiting other friends and inviting friends to your town is a great way to get fruits which are not native to your town. You can plant these fruits to make trees that will produce fruit you can sell at Re-Tail for 500 bells each.

Occasionally you may receive foreign fruits as gifts from villagers too, so get friendly with them!

Additionally, the tropical island produces tropical fruit: durians, mangoes, lemons and lychees . One of these fruits will be in the centre of Tortimer Island, growing on trees in the grass.

You can also find bananas and coconuts growing on palm trees along the beach. If you take some home, be sure to plant them on your beach, not the grass in your town.

You can collect other types of fruit during Island Tours as long as the aim of the tour is not to gather fruit. There is also a tropical permission that is only available for sale in T & T Emporium. All of these tropical fruits sell for 250 belles in Re-Tail.
