How to Recruit¶

Unlike certain recruitments in this game, recruiting Mel is fairly intuitive. After delivering the Hydra Humour to Doc at Guldove and while Kid is resting, Mel will sneakily steal Kid’s Elements. The following day, Kid will notice something’s not right.
When prompted, pick the options that’ll make you chase after Mel: “You need those Elements” and “No, let’s go after Mel”. To find Mel, head to the Dragon Shrine at the westernmost screen, where you went to speak to the Shaman. Talk to the man guarding the entrance and he’ll mention Mel isn’t here.
Now make your way to the residential tower, which is two screens right while on the same level. Korcha will put together a plan to encircle Mel. Afterwards, Mel will surrender and return her Elements to Kid. Now leave Guldove towards Termina.

After borrowing the boat from Korcha and when you can freely navigate the ocean, return to Guldove. With Kid in your party, go and visit Mel on the bottom floor of the residential tower. Mel will confide with Kid; as a result, you’ll receive the Guldovian Stitch frame and Mel will join your entourage.
