Dead Space Remake Chapter 1 Logs: All Locations

There’s a total of 16 logs to be found in the Chapter 1 - New Arrivals mission of the Dead Space 2023 remake. You’ll acquire 7 of these automatically as you go through the story aspects of the mission, but you’ll need to find the other 9 as objects, or “Text Logs”. We’ll show you where to find each of them below.

The table below provides an overview for all 16 logs which can be found during Chapter 1 - New Arrivals. We’ve also described where to find each of them in more detail below.

Dead Space Remake Chapter 1 Log Locations Overview

As mentioned above, there are 7 logs that you will find automatically as you go through the story of chapter 1. These can be referred to as audio logs, since they trigger as audio messages from Daniels or Hammond. The other 9 are found as lootable objects, and they come in the form of text logs which can be read for more information.

Repair Invoice On a chair to the right of the Circuit Breaker, second floor of the Maintenance Bay
Dismemberment Automatically acquired when you enter either the Tram Repair Room or the Maintenance Bay
Stasis Door Triggers once you reach the malfunctioning door leading to the Tram Station Hall
Autoloader This one is missable, and you need to fail attaching the right claw to the tram to trigger it
Stasis Module Request In the Tram Repair Room, opposite the control panel for the left claw
Replaced the Tram Car Automatically acquired after replacing the damaged tram
Poker Invitation Found on a shelf in the Maintenance Bay Office
Found the Data Board Automatically acquired when you find the Data Board in the Maintenance Bay Office
En Route to the Bridge Automatically acquired after calling the tram in the Tram Control Room
Arrived on the Bridge Automatically acquired once you return to the Flight Lounge after calling the tram
Go to Medical Automatically acquired when you defeat the Necromorphs after returning to the USG Kellion

Log 1 - Background Request

The Background Request log can be found inside the USG Kellion, which is the name of the small ship you start the game in. You’ll find it just to your left before you leave the ship, directly opposite the exit, as shown in the screenshot below.

You’ll find the Background Request log inside the USG Kellion ship, where you start the chapter.

Log 2 - Sponsored Article: The USG Ishimura

You’ll find the second log inside the Flight Lounge of the USG Ishimura, beneath the Welcome Aboard sign on the left side of the room as you walk in for the firs time.

Log 3 - Run!

You’ll acquire this log automatically as you run from the Necromorphs attacking your crew mates in the Flight Lounge.

You acquire this one automatically as you run down the hall from the Flight Lounge.

Log 4 - Send Help

You’ll find this one at the Security Phone in the hall as you make your way towards the Tram Control Room, just after picking up the Plasma Cutter and killing a Necromorph.

Log 5 - Repair the Tram System

The Repair the Tram System log is acquired automatically when you enter the Tram Control Room. You’ll get a call from Daniels and Hammond which marks its acquisition.

This one is acquired as soon as you enter the Tram Control Room.

Log 6 - Repair Invoice

You’ll find the Repair Invoice log on a chair to the right of the Circuit Breaker, found on the second floor of the Maintenance Bay. You arrive here when you need to provide power to the Maintenance Room (aka the Maintenance Bay Office).

Log 7 - Dismemberment

This log is automatically acquired when you enter either the Tram Repair Room or the Maintenance Bay, depending on which objective you go for first. We went for the Data Board before replacing the damaged tram, so it triggered for us when we entered the Maintenance Room.

The log will automatically trigger when you enter the Maintenance Bay or the Tram Repair Room, based on which you enter first.

Log 8 - Stasis Door

This one is acquired when you reach the malfunctioning door leading to the Tram Station Hall. You need to use the Stasis Module to slow the door down, and Daniels will call you after finding the Stasis Module.

The Stasis Door log will trigger once you’ve acquired the Stasis Module to slow down the malfunctioning door.

Log 9 - Autoloader

This is a missable log which you can only acquire after failing to attach the right claw to the tram in the Tram Repair Room. Interact with the control panel for the right claw and wait for contact from Hammond in the form of an audio log. Once you’ve received the message you can attach the claw properly using the Stasis Module.

You acquire this audio log only after failing to attach the right claw to the tram.

Log 10 - Stasis Module Request

This one is located in the Tram Repair Room, on a workbench opposite the control panel for the left claw.

You’ll find this one on the workbench opposite the control panel for the left claw.

Log 11 - Replaced the Tram Car

This log is automatically acquired once you’ve replaced the damaged tram by attaching both claws to it, then interacting with the control panel to set the replacement procedure in motion.

You’ll acquire this one automatically after replacing the damaged tram.

Log 12 - Poker Invitation

You’ll find this one on a shelf in the Maintenance Bay Office, the same place where the Data Board is found. You need to use the Circuit Breaker on the second floor of the Maintenance Bay to provide power to the Maintenance Room before you can enter the office.

Log 13 - Found the Data Board

This log is automatically acquired once you find the Data Board in the Maintenance Bay Office. This is part of the main objectives for chapter 1 so it’s impossible to miss without completing it.

You’ll find the Data Board on this workbench in the Maintenance Bay Office.

Log 14 - En Route to the Bridge

This log is automatically acquired once you call the tram for Daniels and Hammond from the Tram Control Room. You need to replace the damaged tram before you can do this.

The log will be triggered once you’ve called the tram for Daniels and Hammond from the Tram Control Room.

Log 15 - Arrived on the Bridge

You’ll acquire this log automatically once you return to the Flight Lounge after calling the tram for Daniels and Hammond. There will be a number of Necromorphs that you need to defeat along the way.

The log will trigger as soon as you return to the Flight Lounge.

Log 16 - Go to Medical

You’ll acquire this log automatically when you defeat the Necromorphs after returning to the USG Kellion ship.

The log will trigger once you defeat the Necromorphs after jumping out the USG Kellion.
