Looter¶
Deus Ex may parade around as a shooter/Stealth hybrid, but its heart lies wholly in the RPG. Ammo and supplies can be quite sparse, especially when playing on the hardest difficulty, so if you’re not checking enemies, rooms, and drawers for ammo and other supplies you’ll only regret it later down the line. Always take a moment or two to grab some swag.
Also, never assume you won’t need some extra mines or such like, those boss encounters can creep up on you you know…
Praxis Makes Perfect¶
Praxis points are the juice for Jensen’s engines so you’ll want to maximise the amount you can accrue in order to beef Jensen up to the max. Perform sidequests, follow this guide’s ‘maximising XP’ advice, check out where all the hidden Praxis Packs are.
The more Praxis you obtain the more arse you can kick so that you can earn more xp and get more Praxis. Simple. No need to make the game harder on yourself by avoiding them…
Use the Map¶
Before tackling an area it’s always advisable to bring up your map and get an idea of your destination before trying to reach it, knowing even a little about how the room lies from a birds eye view can be the difference between blind stumbling and swift, educated movement.
Use the Radar¶
One of your best tools is your radar sitting in the bottom left of the screen. For stealth it will show where enemies are looking, for action it allows you to keep tabs on how enemies are tackling you, it really is an invaluable tool that you should have half your attention on in all situations.
Check Everywhere¶
You never know where some extra goodies or the perfect route is hiding, poke your nose in every nook and cranny, move every box, jump on anything, the world of Human Revolution is so crammed with items and secrets you’ll always be rewarded for looking around.
