What is the Legacy of the Horadrim?

By
Nathan Garvin

Information about the Legacy of the Horadrim, including how to unlock the Legacy of the Horadrim, what the Legacy of the Horadrim is used for, what are Vessels and how to find them, and how to install and upgrade Vessels into the Legacy of the Horadrim.

Earn your first Vessel and you’ll be able to start searching for the entrance to Iben Fahd’s Sanctum.

How to Find the Legacy of the Horadrim

After you clear the 10th level of the Challenge Rift, you’ll obtain - without any warning or prior buildup - the [Caldesann’s Compassion] Vessel. Despite the unceremonious lack of fanfare, this starts the quest “Legacy of the Horadrim”, which in turn will get you another way to earn passive stat boosts and give you another daily dungeon to run.

After the Challenge Rift where you obtain Caldesann’s Compassion you’ll need to run around and investigate a fountain, after which a ghostly Horadrim ancient will lead you to a statue just north of the Challenge Rift Entrance. Once the chatter subsides, interact with the statue to find the entrance to **Iben Fahd’s Sanctum**, the location of both the Legacy of the Horadrim and a daily dungeon you can run to earn the materials necessary to upgrade Vessels like the one you obtained from completing the 10th level of the Challenge Rift. Check out the link to the page on Iben Fahd’s Sanctum to learn more about this dungeon.

Enter Iben Fahd’s Sanctum and endure much chatter as you’re introduced to both the aforementioned sanctum and to the “Legacy Shrine”. At the end of this interaction you’ll be forced to interact with the Legacy of the Horadrim and install the Caldesann’s Compassion Vessel you acquired earlier, giving you a minor boost to Armor and Armor Penetration. The tutorial will then lead you to the Sanctum depths, where you’ll need to complete your first run of the Iben Fahd’s Sanctum dungeon.

What is the Legacy of the Horadrim?

Once upon a time, the gear you wore was the source of most - if not all - of your stats. Those halcyon days are long past us, and now a game’s ways of earning stat boosts is nearly as varied and tedious as their numerous avenues of monetization. The Legacy of the Horadrim is yet another way to boost your stats, which you’ll do by socketing Vessels into the device. Without going into too much detail here (follow the link to the page on Vessels), Vessels are suspiciously gem-like devices you’ll find through various contrivances which will give you passive boosts when socketed into the Legacy of the Horadrim. The bonuses derived from Vessels tend to be fairly focused - usually a single secondary attribute or two - and while they start out paltry, as you upgrade Vessels they’ll improve to be… well, still not impressive, but it’s a passive boost, and every little bit helps.

To install and upgrade Vessels into the Legacy of the Horadrim you’ll need to head to Iben Fahd’s Sanctum and interact with the Legacy Shrine, where you’ll get a menu showing you the device. There are nine sockets in the Legacy of the Horadrim, each one of which can accommodate a Vessel. To see what a Vessel does, just select that Vessel when it’s socketed into the Shrine. You’ll also find an “Upgrade” button on the lower right of the screen when a Vessel is selected.
