Final Fantasy XVI

FF16 - Three's Company Side Quest Walkthrough

By
Shane Williams

The Three’s Company side quest in Final Fantasy 16 can be acquired at The Hideaway once you reach the Back to their Origin main quest. Here you’ll find Byron standing in The Ale Hall. He’ll tell you that there are plans to restore order and he needs your assistance. We’ll take you through the necessary steps to completion and how to defeat the Bannerless Commandant.

Speak with Byron to begin this quest.

Lord Byron has a plan to bring order to the realm, and that plan involves his longtime acquaintance, Dhalmekian Field Marshal Eugen Havel. The field marshal, however, has misgivings about linking arms with a known outlaw and first wishes to gauge Clive’s character.

How to Start the Three’s Company Side Quest in Final Fantasy 16

First things first, you’ll need to have completed the main story mission Streets of Madness, and be on Back to their Origin, then you’ll need to complete both the For Great Justice II and Smooth Like Butler Side Quests. When those requirements have been met, head over to Byron who can be found standing in The Ale Hall section of the "The Hideaway" iconThe Hideaway. Here you’ll learn that Byron wants to bring order back to the realm, as he fears that people will lose their way if things don’t change sooner rather than later.

Where to Find Eugen Havel

However, Byron’s friend doesn’t want to work alongside Clive until he learns more about him, so you’ll want to fast travel over to the "Boklad" iconBoklad "Obelisk" iconObelisk, then head south until you reach The Republican Gate which is located in The Steps of the Forgotten sub-region. When you arrive you’ll notice that both "Rutherford" iconRutherford and Havel have been ambushed by their escorts, so you’ll need to step in before something happens to them.

You’ll need to take down multiple Bannerless Commandants and the good news is that they’re just normal enemies and at this stage of the game you have a lot of abilities that’ll make quick work of them. Use "Ignition" iconIgnition to group them up, then you’ll want to use a strong Area-of-Effect (AoE) Ability, such as "Diamond Dust" iconDiamond Dust to deplete most of their health, then you’ll want to place down "Lightning Rod" iconLightning Rod near them before creating some distance and unleashing "Gigaflare" iconGigaflare to finish them off.

Once you’ve cleared out all of the enemies a short scene will play out, then you’ll want to fast travel to the "Lostwing" iconLostwing Obelisk and head west until you reach the Gaultand’s Bales sub-region. Speak with "Quinten" iconQuinten and inform him of the plans that are going ahead, then return to The Hideaway and give him the good news to bring this quest to a close. Here you’ll be rewarded with The Triunity Accord Curiosity and The Breath of Darkness ("Heaven's Cloud" iconHeaven’s Cloud). This reduces the cooldown time for Heaven’s Cloud by 2.5 seconds.

Other Side Quests in The Hideaway

As you’re playing through the Main Quest, you’ll find more Side Quests pop up in the Hideaway, so it’s a good idea to check back often. Below is a list of all the currently available Side Quests:
