There are a variety of enemies (17 to be exact) in Helldivers 2 and they are separated into two categories: the Terminids and the Automatons. Brood Commanders are a part of the Terminids and they can be found on Terminid controlled planets. On this page, we’ll guide you through the necessary steps for finding a Brood Commander and defeating them!
Helldivers 2 Brood Commander Locations¶
Helldivers 2 has Personal Orders which are updated frequently, and these will require you to take down a specific type of enemy multiple times for a large quantity of XP and Credits which makes it one of the best methods of farming levels. Brood Commander can potentially be the objective of the day and you can find them on Terminid Controlled Planets at any difficulty and this is highlighted as yellow on the galactic war map. More specifically, there is a mission that focuses entirely on this enemy and it’s called “Eliminate Brood Commander”.
How to Defeat Brood Commanders in Helldivers 2¶
Unfortunately, Brood Commanders are one of the tougher Terminid enemies you can come across as they’re heavily armored and have the ability to start Bug Breaches which can spawn a horde of bugs, so to ensure mission success you’ll want to take some time to properly prepare by unlocking specific weapons and stratagems. We recommend that you bring along the Slugger for its armor penetration capabilities and you’ll want to unlock Sentry Turrets and AoE (Area of Effect) stratagems from the ship management system, such as Eagle Napalm Airstrike.
Once you have tracked down the Brood Commander’s whereabouts, you’ll want to focus fire on its head or back while keeping your distance otherwise you’ll increase your chances of being hit by its charge or poisonous claws if you get too close. If it starts spawning a horde of enemies via Bug Breach, place down a Sentry Turret and use any available orbital stratagems to clear out as many as possible.
As mentioned above there are 17 enemies to take on in Helldivers 2, so be sure to check out the links below for tips on how to defeat some of the deadlier threats!
