There are a number of collectibles to find in Kao the Kangaroo, with one of them being Crystals. Each level in the game will have these blue Crystals hidden throughout them, all of which will contribute to 100%. This page will give details on the locations of the Crystals in The Lava Caves.
Crystal #1 Location¶
Look for this moving platform after the Eternal Well to find the first Crystal
The first Crystal in The Lava Caves won’t be found until right after the spot where you can find the Eternal Well. From where you enter the area with the Eternal Well, continue to the next ledge, then look for the moving platform nearby. This platform will bring you to the next ledge, where you can find the Crystal.
Crystal #2 Location¶
It’s hard to miss the second Crystal when doing the level
The second Crystal will be a little bit after learning about the Fire Totems, which spit out the orbs needed for your fire powers infinitely. Immediately after that, you will encounter a raised bridge that’s blocking your progress, forcing you to a side path. While on this side path, you will find the Crystal in plain sight, suspended in the air above a moving platform.
Crystal #3 Location¶

At some point, you will reach a large room that is more mechanical in nature, with a dark crystal hanging in the middle of the room and some lasers in the area below you. Grab a boomerang and hit the dark crystal to make some platforms appear, then ride them over to the one ledge on the side, which is where you will find the Crystal.
Crystal #4 Location¶
The fourth Crystal will be hidden behind some breakables
Whenever you fall through a large trap door towards the end of the level, you will appear in a room with a large door, which has a “G” on it. In this room, next to the door, you should see some breakables. Bust them open for the Ducats and hidden behind them will be the Crystal.
Crystal #5 Location¶
Look behind the breakables by the one laser for the Crystal
The last Crystal in The Lava Caves will be found in the final room of the level. This is where you need to aim lasers at the machine that is powering the forcefield, which is holding Gadget’s wrench in it. On the bottom floor, there is one laser that has a lever next to it. If you look in the corner, by the large crates that are acting like stairs to the second level, you should see some breakables. Destroy them and behind those breakables will be the Crystal.
