To start Kanata’s sidequest, head to the imperial palace in Watt and speak to Plana, who is just to the right of the door leading to the throne room. She will send you to Los Labyrinth, where she thinks the former Emperor Neodeus had a hidden lab. If you don’t remember where the dungeon is located, it is east of Maarport, which is north of Watt. Inside, take the teleporter by using your vulcosuits, then go north and down the stairs. Continue north, past the elevator block and take the block that brings you east. Descend the stairs to find the spot with four breakable blocks, where a scene will occur.
You will be teleported to another area automatically, so get to exploring. Go right first and take the block at the end to another area, where you can destroy some debris in your way to the right to find a glow spot at the end. Travel north to find another elevator block, where you’ll see a button just above where you stop. Hit the button to make the block to your right move south, so go south and use that block to travel north and find Neodeus’ lab. After the conversation ends, use your vulcosuit to break through the blocks nearby and take the teleporter at the end. Step forward in this area for a scene, then talk to people as they show up, eventually leading to more scenes and a boss fight.
BOSS - Omega Krom¶
You’ll find that this version of Krom has a lot of similarities to the last time you fought him. Stab will still hit straight in front, as will Lacerate, so don’t put your characters there. Elevate is what Omega Krom will use to fly off the screen, meaning you won’t be able to hit him. Remember that this will damage you and whenever Krom wants to come down, he will either perform Black Dive or Dark Wing. The latter does more damage than Black Dive, but either combined with Elevate will do around 250+ damage to everyone.
Of course, Krom will do deal some minor damage upon landing, but only to those standing near him. Omega Krom, at some point, will use Contempt to erect a physical and magical shield, helping to mitigate your damage some. Get Lost! will also remove any debuffs on him, while Tail Roll will deal around 50-70 damage to all characters. Terrimpact is probably another move you will see, which can do upwards of 200+ damage to all characters.
As already mentioned, positioning your characters to the sides (melee) or lower corners (ranged) will help them avoid some of Krom’s attacks. If you’re using Kanata, then you can attempt to seal off Elevate with Holy Force, which will get rid of his most annoying move. Other than that, it’s simply a battle where healing takes priority, since some of Krom’s moves do quite a bit of damage. When he erects his shields, there’s not much you can do than wait for them to wear off, so avoid wasting Momentum Charges or skills. As you get Krom’s health low, make sure everyone’s health is topped off, as he will use Final Bang as a last desperation attack on being defeated, which can deal upwards of 250+ damage to the entire party.
With Omega Krom down, exit Los Labyrinth the same way you entered, then return to Plana in the imperial palace. She’ll thank you for doing her task and give you the Moon’s Soul item. Finishing Kanata’s sidequest will unlock the Lost Savior skill spritnite at the magic consortium, with two ways to make it. One way is with the Moon’s Soul item and the other way requires memories.
