Runners

Runners are a common enemy in The Last of Us: Part 2

How To Deal With Runners in The Last of Us: Part 2

You’ll come across a lot of Runners as you work way across Seattle, as these are the most common type of enemy due to Runners being the first stage of infection a human will go through. As the name suggests their main trait is they will sprint towards you if you’re detected which will make trying to aim accurately at their heads will be extremely difficult, so you’ll have to aim for their torso which will not only take longer to kill, it’ll use a lot more more ammo. Additionally, Runners are typically found in packs, so you’ll want to avoid getting detected, as this will cause you to get overwhelmed by enemies.

Runners can go both hear and see you, so you’ll want to stay out of their line of site to avoid them alerting others. The best way to take these enemies down is to make sure no other enemies are looking in your direction, then remain crouched so you make a little sound as possible and sneak up behind them and perform a stealth attack by pressing DualSense-ButtonTriangle followed by DualSense-ButtonSquare on PlayStation or Xbox-ButtonY followed by Xbox-ButtonX on Xbox. Alternatively, you can use a Pistol that’s equipped with a Silencer and aim for a headshot to make quick work of it.
