While navigating the unique areas in the world of Uncharted 3, you’ll find yourself running into many obstacles, such as cliffs or dead ends. As a treasure hunter, Nathan Drake has a wide array of skills that allow him to traverse hard terrain, taking risks and reaching places that seem impossible.
Jumping¶
In some cases you may find yourself at a dead end, or so it seems. Whether it is a gate, wall, or a large ravine that you encounter, Drake has no problem jumping over almost anything in his way. In some cases you’ll find that the game prevents you from leaving the area to keep you on the linear course, but in some cases these dead ends are actually the way to progress.
Climbing¶
In addition to jumping, Nate can climb along walls and across cliffs or caverns. When approaching a climbable section you’ll need to either jump up and grab a ledge or jump across a gap and automatically grab a ledge. Once on the ledge you can move Drake across the ledge.
Usually a single ledge will not get you where you need to go and you’ll need to jump to another ledge by holding in the direction of the next ledge and pressing X. You can also drop to a ledge below you by pressing O or drop off a ledge by holding O.
