The long-reigning king of rings, the Stone of Jordan (SoJ) was long ago the defacto currency of Diablo 2 Resurrected, superceded later by high runes. It’s no wonder why, as it offers +1 to All Skills and Increase Maximum Mana 25% - boons that benefit nearly every character, but especially casters. It’s still the go-to ring for many builds, and a worthy drop.
Selling Stones of Jordan rings to merchants - as wasteful as that is - will also increment the counter to spawn [Uber Diablo], whom can be defeated in order to obtain the [Annihilus] charm - a worthy recompense for SoJs sold.
With a relatively low iLv of 39, the Stone of Jordan can be dropped fairly early in the game - pretty much every drop source in Nightmare difficulty and beyond can drop it, although the odds can be vanishingly low. Act Bosses from Normald [Diablo] and on can also drop it, but the most frequent droppers are Nightmare [Andariel] followed by Hell [Andariel]. Given all the other great loot Hell Andariel can drop, we recommend her as a target - her odds of dropping a SoJ are significantly lower than Nightmare Andariel, but farming for one item is incredibly frustrating… and at least with Hell Andariel you may just end up with a Harlequin Crest as a consolation prize from time to time.
