This page offers a guide on how to find the Pond Lab in Grounded. On this page, you’ll find a video guide on how to reach the lab, as well as information on the relevant equipment needed to get to Pond Lab.
Where is the Pond Lab?¶
The Pond Lab is situated deep in Koi Pond, near Oak Lab. To get to the lab you’ll need to make some equipment to help you breathe underwater. There are several items that can help with underwater breathing, but thankfully the easiest item to make - the gill tube - is suitable enough to get you to the Pond Lab without running out of breath. You will not be able to reach the Pond Lab without either the Gill Tube or the Bubble Helmet. Below, you’ll find information on how to make the Gill Tube (the easier but weaker option of the two).
How to Make the Gill Tube¶
In order to unlock the recipe for the Gill Tube, you’ll need to analyze an Eelgrass Strand at the Resource Analyzer. Without the Gill Tube, you only 40 seconds of breathing time, whereas when you have the tube equipped you’ll have 80 seconds!
You’ll need the following materials to make the Gill Tube:
Resource | Quantity |
---|---|
Lilypad Wax | x2 |
Eelgrass Strand | x4 |
Silk Rope | x2 |

How to Get to the Pond Lab¶
Now that you have a Gill Tube (or Bubble Helmet), you’ll be able to head into the Koi Pond depths to find the Pond Lab. The first thing you’ll want to do is locate the juice box near the edge of the koi pond. You want to be swimming northwestish from the juice box. Before you dive under swim for a couple of seconds so you don’t waste too much breath underwater.
As you dive into this area, you’ll spot a plant that produces air bubbles - use this as a handy way point and as a way to restore your breath! To restore your breath using these bubbles, simply swim into the large bubbles floating to the top of the water - they’ll restore your breath up to full! You can also get bubbles from the holes in the pipes too.
Once you’ve found the bubble plant, start looking down to locate the pipe going downwards. As you swim along side it you’ll find that it goes deeper into a mini cave-like area in the pond. You’ll soon see the glowing eyes of a T-Rex Toy! Before you swim towards the T-Rex, make sure to grab a bubble of air from the pipe. This is the last bit of air you’ll be able to get before reaching the lab so don’t dilly dally!
After grabbing some more air start swimming towards the T-Rex and then veer left slightly towards a stream of bubbles. Swim into the stream of bubbles and it’ll propell you forward quickly. In this next area you’ll need to swim quickly towards a tunnel opening on the far wall - keep an eye out for the pink glow of a Raw Science bubble to point you in the right direction.
Once inside the lab tunnel swim to the right and up into a room filled with new resources! Don’t get distracted though! Your air is probably running a little low and you need to use some time to activate the Biometric Scanner.
As soon as the scan is over, swim quickly up the newly opened door and you’ll find a dry room! Whew you’ve made it!
