Mass Effect 3 Legendary Edition

Armax Arena - Introduction

By
Claire Farnworth

These guys swindle you so don’t waste too much money on them.

Upon entry, talk to the VI to gain access to the Arena itself. To start a match, head through the barriers marked “Athletes Only” and examine the Terminal. Here you can select Level, Enemies, Enemy Types, any score Modifiers and Squad Mates. Most of the options are locked at the moment though.

Select any options you like for the first match and press confirm. Head through the door to arrive in the Locker Room where you can equip you and your teammates with armour and weaponry. When you’re ready to begin, enter the elevator that will take you to the simulator.

You will fight three rounds, each one increasing in difficulty. In between rounds you can pick up a bonus worth 200 points so always try and get that if you can. To maximise your score, you want to rack up killstreaks as often as possible.

Always try and grab these when you can.

Aim for a Silver Token score by killing enemies quickly, getting killstreaks and the bonuses between rounds. The matches aren’t difficult at this stage so just focus on that. One of the best levels to play on is Blasteroid as it offers good vision and cover.

Hopefully you will have earnt a Silver Token so let’s go and spend it, shall we? From the stairs head to the Armax Store where you will see the Token Machines. The Bronze machine has levels and squad mates to unlock while the Silver machine has modifiers, Elite tier enemies and Reapers.

Lastly, the Gold machine offers Collectors, Super Elites and the Mirror Match options (this pits you against Shepard clones of each class). It is a good idea to unlock Elites first as you will be asked to do specific types of matches for avid fans.

Always check your emails between matches to unlock new challenges.

Before you make your choice, you can examine the Email terminal downstairs to see which matchups have been requested. As a rule, you want to unlock Elite enemies and Reapers before modifiers as you will garner a much bigger score when fighting Elite enemies.

For years, a lone soldier has told tales of the Reapers, of their return, of these sentient machines reaching out across the vastness of space, to harvest all sentient life. But the warnings were all for nothing. Until now. The Reapers have at last come to Earth and these warnings can no longer be ignored. You are Commander Shepard, the first human spectre and elite soldier of the Alliance, tasked with uniting the galaxy in the fight to stop the Reapers destroying everything you hold dear.
