Marriage and friendship are one of the many features in My Time at Sandrock. The game features a total of 21 romance options and the ability to marry without gender restriction. To achieve this goal, though, players need to be familiar with the game’s friendship system to make friends and eventually get married. How to Increase Your Relationship Level in My Time at Sandrock¶

You can become friends with every character who lives in Sandrock. To do this, though, you must visit them frequently, give them gifts, go on Play Dates, spar with them, host parties, speak with them at events, let them admire relics, do commissions for them, and even play mini-games. You can even gain extra points for giving a character a gift on their birthday. Many of these can be done from the menu that pops up when you interact with an NPC. The Table below goes over all seven friendship levels and how many points you need to reach them.

Each character has gifts that will help you increase their heart level. It’s up to you to discover which gifts they love and like to get the most points. In addition, with each level you go up, you will unlock new features like Photos and Play Dates at the Buddy level. Once you become a Friend, you are guaranteed to receive a gift on your birthday, and a good friend will send more valuable birthday gifts.

Some will even send random gifts in the mail when it’s not your birthday. In addition to this, befriending store owners will get you a discount at their shops. Logan, Justice, Mi-ann, Unsuur, and Pen will also give you stat buffs once you reach certain friendship levels. It’s worth making friends with the whole town to get the maximum number of perks in the game.

How to Get Married in My Time at Sandrock¶

If you get married, your spouse will help out around your workshop by completing simple tasks such as feeding animals, collecting finished items, and cleaning up sand. Once you reach the three-star friendship level, you can invite them on play dates for extra affinity. As soon as you have earned the friend status at three stars, you can confess using a Heart Knot bought from the General Store for 128 Gols. The higher your friendship rating gets, the more likely that the Heart Knot will be accepted.

The character’s relation to you will also change to boyfriend/girlfriend. From this point on, you will be able to invite that character on dates to bolster their affection towards you further. You can date multiple characters simultaneously, but if they see you together with someone else on a date, they will get jealous if you’ve already confessed with the Heart Knot. At this point, the date will end, and you will lose 50 points with both characters. The table below goes over how many points you will need to gain affection with your new partner.

Once you have chosen which of the eligible bachelors and bachelorettes you prefer, you can propose to them. This can be done when you are at the three-heart level, have expanded your workshop to level five, and have purchased an Engagement Ring from the Mysterious Man for 3,000 Gols. This purchase can only be made on the 20th and 21st of each month as the Mysterious Man only visits during this time frame. Please note that characters like Elisie and Logan have special quests that need to be completed before you can fully romance them.

What Happens After Marriage in My Time at Sandrock?¶

Once your proposal is accepted, your new partner will move into your workshop. If you are dating any other characters, they will automatically revert to friendship status. The chance to have a child will also become available if you place a baby’s crib in your home. It may take some time, but you will eventually have a child with your partner.

Can You Get Divorced in My Time at Sandrock?¶

If you wish to pursue a different character, then you can give your partner a broken mirror to dissolve the union. This item can also be purchased from the Mysterious Man, but it will cost you 20,000 Gols. This will cause their affection for you to plummet, and they will immediately leave your workshop. If a character is divorced, they can be remarried if you get their friendship level back up.
