The Executioner of the Bastille is the sixth Steelrising Titan boss you will face off against in the main story. The boss is large, slow, but heavy-hitting boss, with frosty attacks to be weary of. Here are some tips and tricks for handling the Steelrising Executioner in this boss guide.

Steelrising Executioner Boss Tips and Tricks¶

The most noteworthy strategy we can offer players against this boss is that its weakness is kiting. The boss is heavy, and, therefore, slow. Moreso, it lacks the ability to charge. The biggest weaknesses of this boss are therefore ranged attacks and grenades. If you’re looking for the easy way out, this is the best tactic against this boss. Physical weapon users can enjoy the Dueling Pistols, Fire and Volley, while element users can find the firey batons useful, or the Charleville musket.

Also, the boss is highly resistant to frost but is susceptible to fire and ful elements. You can add these to your build, either through your weapon choices or through grenades.

Before you head into the boss room, we recommend changing your modules to frost and armor resistance in case you take a beating, along with taking frost resistance consumables, and some ordinary oils for healing over time too.

Phase 1¶

During this phase, all of the boss’ attacks will apply frost stacks to you, so be careful not to freeze during this fight.

Slow Punches: The Executioner swings its giant metal left fist towards your location. Dodge into the boss to avoid it.

Be aware the boss can also perform this move even if you’re attacking it from the side or behind. So always be ready to dodge through it.

Ice Flail: The boss spins its flail around in a circle around the boss. Either be under the boss or far back to avoid it. Ranged weapon users can go far back and attack, while melee users can get as close as they want to.

Ice blasts: The boss will mark its health bar with red exclamation marks, then swing its flail all around its body. The flail will hit the floor several times, leaving patches of ice. These will damage you, and apply stacks of frost to Aegis if you go near it. Furthermore, getting hit by the chain counts as a melee attack, so you should stay away from the boss.

Ranged Attack: The boss throws its guillotine chain out towards you. As it lands, it will deal a lot of damage in a small radius, and apply frost damage to you. However, the boss’s weapon gets stuck for a few moments, opening up space for you to gap close with your Selenite dash, or use ranged attacks or grenades against the boss.

Phase 2¶

The boss will repeat the same moves that it does during Phase 1, albeit with another red exclamation special move, that changes the pacing of the fight up.

Red Exclamation marks: The boss jumps into the air, and grey gusts around the boss become visible. This marks where you will take damage if you are not entirely careful. Once again, the biggest counter to this is to go range and use your ranged weaponry to beat back the boss.

After that, it is a rinse and repeat of everything else you have already encountered. Watch for what the boss is doing, and adapt to the situation.
