Visions of Mana

All Elemental Plot Item Locations

By
Jarrod Garripoli

You will gradually get stronger as you level up, like with any other RPG, in Visions of Mana. To get more skills, active and passive, you’ll have to use the Elemental Plot, which is essentially a skill tree. Each class for a character will have access to its own row on the Elemental Plot, but you only get three skills at first. In order to unlock more, you will need to hunt down Tonics. Each character has their own special Tonic and in order to fully unlock all of the Elemental Plot, you will need three Tonics. This page will detail where to find all of the Elemental Plot Expansion Items in the game.

The Elemental Plot is important, as that is where you’ll learn new skills for characters.

First and Second Elemental Plot Items

Once you have a respective Tonic, simply go to the Elemental Plot board and select the first locked column. Hit the confirm button there and you should receive a pop-up, asking you to unlock them. Thankfully, the Tonic will unlock that section of the board for all of the classes, so you aren’t going to be locked per class. Also, you won’t be missing the first two Tonics for each character, as they are all story-related and come from specific bosses. The only problem is that there’s a big space between the first one you get, especially for the earlier characters, and the second one.

Elemental Points

In order to unlock nodes on the Elemental Plots, you will need to accrue Elemental Points. You will likely get a lot of these without realizing it, but this section will detail the ways to get them. One of the first ways you can get Elemental Points is by simply leveling up your characters. For every level they gain, you will get some Elemental Points. Another way to get them is finding the Elementites in the world and absorbing the energy from them.

Note that you need the corresponding Elemental Vessel first before you can use the Elementites, so there will be a lot of backtracking to get them all. If you don’t have enough Elemental Points to purchase a node, then there is something else that can help you with that. Throughout your adventure, you can find items called "Gold Clover" iconGold Clovers. These are found from the glowing spots across all of the areas, as well as rewards from some side quests and even from breaking open the item-based pots. Each Gold Clover is equal to a single Elemental Point, so if a character doesn’t have any points, they can still use the clovers to purchase a node.

Third Elemental Plot Expansion Location

The third, and final, Elemental Plot expansion item isn’t dropped by a boss, nor will you find them while exploring the game’s worlds. You will have to wait until you complete the main story of the game. Once you have, you will enter the post-game section, where you can unlock a few things, like a superboss and even some extra equipment. If you head over to any "Dudbear" iconDudbear "Grizzly Exchange" iconGrizzly Exchange that requires the "Grizzly Syrup" iconGrizzly Syrups, then you will notice they have some new inventory. One of these items will be the various Tonics needed to fully unlock the last set of skills on the Elemental Plots. They will cost 20 Grizzly Syrups each.

Elemental Plot Expansion Item Locations

The following table will list all bosses that you will get the Expansion items from in the game. The first one will usually happen as you progress the main story, while the second set will happen in Chapter 7. Note that you actually get "Julei" iconJulei’s first Tonic before he actually joins your party, funnily enough.

(1 of 4) Each character has their own specific Tonic for expanding the Elemental Plot.

There are three trophies/achievements related to the Elemental Plot, with the first one unlocking after you expand it for the first time. This occurs after using the first "Soul Guard Tonic" iconSoul Guard Tonic, as that’s the first one you receive. The second one will be for fully expanding the Elemental Plot, so you’ll need to purchase one of them from the Grizzly Exchange. The final trophy/achievement is for maxing out one class’ Elemental Plot, which will require a total of 500 Elemental Points.
