Fighting is going to be something you do a lot in Visions of Mana, especially as you explore the various areas. In addition to the normal enemies you encounter, as well as the bosses, there are stronger enemies known as Nemeses. You’ll know a Nemesis is in the vicinity, as the music changes to something more ominous, plus the enemy will be shrouded in some colored aura. Defeating a Nemesis enemy will always be rewarded with a lot of experience and money, as well as that Nemesis’ Corestone.

Nemeses are much stronger versions of normal enemies.

This page will list all of the Nemeses in the game, including the zone they are located in, as well as a map marker. Most Nemeses are usually found just at specific spots in zones, but some are actually tied to specific side quests. There are also a few Nemeses that require you to open up the various Ancient Ruins scattered around some of the zones. These are high-leveled ones, so you likely won’t be going after them until reach closer to the end of the main story.

As you can see from the above list, there are a total of 30 Nemeses in the game. The majority of them are already on the map, so you simply need to find them to get them. As there are eight Ancient Ruins, there are eight Nemeses tied to them. Additionally, there are five side quests that will have a Nemesis attached to them, so you’ll need to make sure you do those (may require other side quests to be done, but they are completely optional otherwise). In addition to the goodies you get in-game, you also unlock the Expert Exterminator trophy/achievement for defeating all Nemeses. Note that the Nemeses also count towards the bestiary, and the Know Thine Enemy trophy/achievement.
