The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

Collecting Items

By
Vincent Lau

Small hearts only restore one heart but they can be a life-saver.

Along the way, Link can obtain a variety of items and collectables just by touching them. You can discover a lot of common items simply by cutting down bushes, smashing pots or defeating monsters.

Small hearts instantly replenish health, while rupees are used as currency. Some items can be purchased from traders; rarer items are often locked inside treasure chests or sitting in difficult-to-reach places. In any case, it never hurts to pick up an item and stash it in your adventuring pouch or wallet.

To see what items you’ve picked up, touch the “Gear” tab or “Item” tab on the bottom screen. The Gear menu will show you your important possessions (such as your clothes…) towards the top and your collectables (such as rupees) towards the bottom.

Meanwhile, the Item menu gives you information about your adventuring tools–the ones you can assign to the X or Y button and use during gameplay. For all items, just touch them to display a brief description.
