Description¶
This page offers advice on how to maximise the amount of DIYs you find in a day.
Where to Get DIYs¶
On your island you can find DIYs in the following places:
-
Washed up Bottle - Once a day, there will be a DIY Recipe in a Bottle on your beach.
-
Villagers crafting items - Twice a day, usually during the daytime and nighttime, one of your villagers will be crafting an item in their home. You should always talk to every villager every day, so make sure you check inside houses for the residents who are busy crafting away!
-
Shooting balloons - Often times, balloons will be carrying DIY recipes or material to use for recipes. Keep an eye on the skies!
-
Using Amiibo figures - If you invite villagers using Amiibo they will sometimes ask that you craft something specific as a souvenir. If you don’t know how to craft the item they want, they’ll give you the DIY recipe for it.
-
Nookstop - There are also lots of DIY recipes to redeem using Nook Miles at the Nookstop! If you haven’t already, you should look into buying them.
-
Nook’s Cranny - There are a few DIY recipe sets that are up for grabs. You should also invest in those, if you haven’t yet.
-
Island Hopping - When you go on Mystery Island Tours, you should scour the beaches for washed up bottles. Often times, there will be a DIY recipe bottle for you to pick up.
-
Celeste (Special Visitor) - Whenever Celeste visits she will give you a DIY recipe. The recipes she gives will always require star fragments.
Extra Places to Get DIYs¶
If you’re looking for specific DIY recipes, then using Animal Crossing community groups on social medias can be really helpful. Often times, people will advertise that they have spare DIY recipes or that a villager on their island is crafting an item. There are forums on Reddit, Facebook and Discord that people join to sell, buy or swap DIY recipes.
