Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition

Intimidate

By
Claire Farnworth

The Intimidate talent is used in conversations for primarily Renegade dialogue options and choices. It is used to coerce people, insult or threaten people and can even unlock the “Motivated Buyer” from vendors which increases the amount of credits merchants will pay for items. It can be used to diffuse tense situations and for not-so-subtle diplomacy especially among squabbling squad mates.

Accruing Renegade points increases the ranks available in Intimidate and you also get extra Intimidate points for becoming a Spectre. You can earn the Charismatic achievement for resolving a seemingly impossible situation. You can acquire 4 points in Intimidate by gaining 75% Renegade points so there is no real need to put ability points in all 12 levels and these ability points do carry over to subsequent playthroughs if you intend to max out the stat.
