How to Get Stamina Potions – Nightingale

By
Scott Peers

As with most survival games, the stamina mechanic is at the heart of gameplay in Nightingale. You’ll need to make sure that you have a good amount of stamina at all times, allowing you to perform the actions necessary harvesting, mining, building, and perhaps most importantly; surviving combat encounters. There’s only so much you can do to increase your maximum stamina, and you will almost certainly find yourself in situations where a burst of extra stamina is useful. To that end, on this page we’ll tell you everything you need to know about how to get stamina potions in Nightingale.

Where to Find Stamina Potions in Nightingale

In the first stages of the gameplay loop in Nightingale, you won’t have access to the crafting station required to make stamina potions. Instead, you’ll need to rely on finding them as loot from chests that you can find throughout the wilderness. The chests containing loot are most often found at POIs, such as Bastille objectives or Fae Towers, but you may be lucky enough to find a few chests in the odd abandoned building every now and then. It’s a good idea to loot every chest that you come across in general, especially since they can contain valuable Minor Realm Cards.

Restful Potions and Rejuvenating Potions

The stamina potions that you’re most likely to find in the early realms of the game are various types of Restful and Rejuvenating potions. The Restful potions are limited to providing a base burst of stamina to your stamina bar, and you can use them whenever you like by placing them on the hotbar for ease of use. The Rejuvenating potions tend to replenish both health and stamina, but they do it in a way that regenerates both stats over time. For example, a Moderate Rejuvenating Potion will restore 3 stamina every second for 120 seconds, so they’re useful to use during longer fights or harvesting sessions.

It’s always a good idea to have a stack of stamina potions available for the toughest fights, but keep in mind that you can increase the base amount of stamina that you’re able to use by consuming specific food types. One of the simplest recipes that you’ll get early on is Mixed Plants, and this can increase your maximum stamina by 30 – 50 depending on the combination of resources used (such as raw mushrooms, different types of berries, or even more substantial ingredients such as Spinach). However you combine them, the goal is to maximize your stamina to reduce the need to consume valuable stamina potions.

How to Craft Stamina Potions

As you progress through the game, you’ll eventually unlock the Alchemical Boiler. This is the crafting station that you’ll need to craft different types of stamina potions in bulk, such as the Restful and Rejuvenating potions mentioned above. You can craft these to different strengths, usually delineated by terms such as “Slight” or “Moderate”. It’s all fairly obvious in terms of which potions are more powerful, but you may not have the recipes for each potion available. To get them, be sure to speak with all the Essence Traders in each new realm that you visit. Otherwise, you’ll be relying on finding the recipe as random loot or rewards after completing POI encounters.

The recipes for crafting these stamina potions aren’t always cheap, often requiring a combination of Essence Dust, a flower (such as Tulips), a form of meat or fish, and some glass for the potion containers itself. You should make a habit of saving all the ingredients you find by storing them in your Abeyance realm’s house to ensure that you always have a decent stock, ready to craft some stamina potions before setting out on your next adventure.

Nightingale is a PvE open-world survival crafting game with a few unique features for the genre. First among these is the Realm Card system, whereby players can discover and craft Major or Minor realm cards to influence aspects of procedurally generated worlds or character attributes respectively. You may find yourself in a more forgiving or hostile world depending on the Major cards you use, but the Minor cards can give you an edge against foes with boosts to damage, health, stamina, or other aspects of survival. The game is set in the Victorian era and has more than a little influence from Steampunk fiction, so if that’s anything like your thing, you’ll love this world!
