Description

Gold Leaf Galaxy is found in the Engine dome and requires 34 stars to unlock. During a couple of these levels, you’ll

Star Bunnies on the Hunt

In this level you need to reach the Star Bunny’s planet so you can chase and catch it.

Enemies

  • Octoguys - Octoguys will throw rocks at Mario that you’ll need to avoid. You can easily defeat them by spin attacking or jumping.

  • Piranha Plants - Piranha Plants will try to bite Mario. They have a fairly large range, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to defeat the plant before it bites.

  • Wigglers - When wigglers are yellow, they move slowly. But if you jump on their heads, they’ll turn red and move very quickly. If they run into you, you’ll be damaged. To defeat them, you can either spin to incapacitate them and then jump on them, or jump on them twice in a row.

  • Flipbugs - The Flipbugs will only attack you if you’re Bee Mario, if you’re regular Mario then they will run away. You can spin attack them or jump at them.

  • Boulders - Boulders will essentially just run over Mario if he’s in their path. To break them, you need to spin attack their ruby core, which is easier said than done!

Cataquack to the Skies

During this level you’ll need to use your Bee Mario powers and cataquacks to make your way across the planets to get to the Power Star.

New Enemies

  • Cataquacks - Cataquacks will run at you and launch you into the sky. You can utilise this to your advantage by having them launch you in specific places where you need a boost.

  • Undergrunts - Undergrunts are a type of mole that burrow around planets. To defeat them, you’ll need to groundpound in their vicinity and then when they’re stunned, jump on their heads.

Cataquacks won’t hurt you but they might launch you into bad places.

Other Enemies

  • Flipbugs
  • Octoguys
  • Piranha Plants
  • Wigglers
  • Boulders

When it Rains, it Pours

In this level you’ll need to fight the Undergrunt Gunner who’s taken over the Observatory.

New Enemies

  • Mandibugs - Mandibugs will charge at you, but cannot move sideways. To defeat them, you’ll need to groundpound them.

  • Slurples - Slurples will latch onto Mario’s head, slowly draining life from him as though he is being suffocated. Mario’s movement speed will also be reduced whilst they’re attached to his head. To get rid of them, either spin or shoot star bits at them.

Other Enemies

  • Flipbugs
  • Piranha Plants

Boss Enemy - Undergrunt Gunner

When you reach the top of the observatory tower, you’ll have to defeat the Undergrunt Gunner. He is surrounded by a spikes, with moving platforms that go from one end of the observatory roof to the other.

Groundpound the gunner’s glass casing to defeat him.

  • Bee Mario - The Gunner will be shooting bubbles in your direction and remember, if you get hit by a bubble, you’ll lose your Bee form. Fly over to the Gunner and groundpound the glass above the undergrunts head.

  • Normal Mario - If you are no longer Bee Mario, then you’ll need to use the button at the back of the observatory to help you defeat the boss. When you groundpound the button at the back of the observatory some platforms will raise near where you started. Quickly head back over and use the platforms to jump up onto the Gunner’s machine.

You’ll need to groundpound the glass of the gunner’s machine three times to defeat him for good. Each time you hit him, he’ll get angrier. During the third phase, he’ll be extra angry and he’ll shoot his bubbles at you even faster, making it trickier to avoid them.

Bee Mario

Bee Mario is available in all of the main levels in this galaxy. When Mario walks into a Bee Mushroom, he will transform into Bee Mario. Whilst he is Bee Mario, you’ll be able to fly by holding or tapping A/B. You only have a limited amount of flight power, so you’ll have to be careful not to run out. Once you land, the flight power wheel will recharge. Mario will lose his Bee form if he touches water. Bee Mario can also climb up honey-covered hexagons.

Bee Mushrooms are available in each of the main levels in this galaxy.
