Description

This page offers a guide on The Watermelon Festival, which is the 8th episode in Gelato Beach.

Find the Biggest Watermelon

The Piantas near the beach hut are holding a competition for who can find the largest watermelon! Your task is to win this contest by finding the largest watermelon on the beach. There are a fair few melons dotted around but the biggest one is found at the top of the hill that overlooks the tower! So, head up past the tower, and spray the Dune Bud to spawn in the set of stairs, or you can wall jump, up to the path along the cliff edge.

The biggest melon is found all the way at the top of the hill overlooking the tower and the beach.

Now, you’ll need to roll the watermelon all the way back to the beach hut. This is definitely easier said than done, as there are lots of cataquacks on the beach that will try to destroy your melon by flinging it up into the air. If this happens, you’ll have to go all the way back to the top of the hill to grab a new watermelon! The best way to deal with the cataquacks, is to try to roll your melon in areas with fewer cataquacks so you don’t get overwhelmed.

Once you’ve reached the pier to the hut, you’ll now need to roll the watermelon carefully across the pier. Again, this is easier said than done, as the watermelon is huge and the boardwalk zig-zags. However, care and precision is paramount because if the watermelon touches the water then it’ll burst and you’ll need to go all the way back for a new one! Just take your time and only push it a little and you should be alright. When you reach the hut with the large melon, the Piantas will reward you with a Shine Sprite!

(1 of 2) If a cataquack touches your watermelon, it’ll burst

If a cataquack touches your watermelon, it’ll burst (left), and similarly, if the watermelon falls of the boardwalk you’ll also need to grab a new one! (right)
