Lost Books are one of the collectibles that can be found in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. They are essentially items you can find that add a little bit of extra lore to the game. You can turn in the Lost Books to Al-Jahiz, at the House of Wisdom, for some rewards, like Scholar Tokens and even the Scholar Outfit. There are only six Lost Books marked on your map, but there is actually a hidden, seventh Lost Book. This page will tell you how to get the secret Kitab al-Zahif Lost Book.
How to Get the Kitab Al-Zahif Lost Book in Assassin’s Creed Mirage¶
There is no prerequisite to obtaining this Lost Book, other than having the freedom to explore Baghdad, which happens after the prologue. To get started on finding this book, you will be heading to the southeastern corner of the map. Now, the location you will be going to doesn’t have a marker, either, but there are actually two collectibles to be found there. One is that Lost Book, and the other is a Historical Site, so it’s worth the trip if you wish to actually get all of the trophies/achievements.
Once you find the ruins, make sure you grab the Seleucia-on-the-Trigris Historical Site first, as you’re right there. Right by that will be some weak ground that you can break, but you’ll need to find an explosive jar to do just that. There is a ladder off to the side that you can climb, with two big explosive jars at the base of it. Since you can’t move those, go up the ladder to find two smaller jars you can use (as well as a Resource Chest). It is possible to toss the explosive pot from this spot and hit the weakened ground, but there is a surefire location that makes it a little easier.
Follow the wall up here and hop across to the other parts of the wall. When you reach the one portion of it and feel you’re close enough, aim your throw and let it loose. If you miss the weakened ground, then double back to get another explosive pot and try again. Wait for the fire to subside, then you can finally loot the Kitab al-Zahif.
Once you have collected the Kitab al-Zahif, you can bring it to Al-Jahiz at the House of Wisdom. This is located on the western end of Abbasiyah, in the Yasiriyah district. Upon bringing him the book, he will give you the Monstrous Talisman, which should look familiar to fans of the Cthulhu mythos. Note that you don’t need to bring him any of the other Lost Books first, so you can do this as soon as you have access to the open world.
