The Mountains’ Secret Cave is one of the first cave systems/dungeons that players can find during their early-game exploration. This entirely optional area hides some decent early-game loot, an early source of mining nodes, and other enhancement materials, and even leads to an early-game Seeker’s Token. However, the cave is fairly dangerous, so here’s a closer look at what to expect from the Mountains’ Secret Cave in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Mountains’ Secret Cave Walkthrough in Dragon’s Dogma 2¶
To access The Mountains’ Secret Cave, you will need to head northwest from Borderwatch Outpost in North Vermund. Take the road heading west from the Outpost, and then you should see a turning on the right near a cliff. Follow the road north, and you will ascend the mountain, peaking with the mount of this cave.
Inside the cave, Slimes will be in every other passageway and corner. Some of the Slimes live on the ground, and some of them live on the roof. Be careful where you tread. A few explosive barrels are knocking around the place, so you can use them to assist you with the damage you will deal to the Slimes to make things easier.
As for the reward and the main thing you need to look for, this map should assist you with the important lootables on site. It also details the rough enemy locations of the Slimes and the single Chopper at the exit of the cave. When you go through the cave, make sure to check the side lane from the central pathway through the cave, as these often contain the chests, as well as the Copper Ore and Silver Ore mining nodes you want.
In terms of major rewards, expect to find the following:
- Soft Neck Wrap
- Favored Flower
- 3x Copper Ore
- 2x Silver Ore
When you reach the end of the cave, exit, and you can find some grapes hanging over the cliff edge. Further down, there is a broken wooden building, where you can enter and find a chest alongside a Seeker’s Token Map Marker. At the end of the building is a slope, which leads directly to the northern entrance of the Borderwatch Outpost. This will be your shortcut back to the base.
Note that you must complete the cave system to access that building, its chest, and the Seeker’s Token, which is well worth doing. There’s also a Riftstone here too, alongside a chest in the building, that at least for us, contained a Harpysnare Smoke Beacon, with a Jasper on the furniture inside the building!
This concludes everything you need to know about The Mountains’ Secret Cave in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Good luck exploring this early cave. There are a few other early-game caves worth checking out, such as the Waterfall Cave and the Cavern of the Forsaken, which both hold dangerous threats and fantastic rewards.
