The Masked Correspondence side quest is missable for players who don’t visit Sven inside the Vernworth Castle. If you happen to head into Sven’s room while disguised in the Marcher’s armor set, you can speak to him in his room, and agree to find a mysterious noble in the dance hall. However, the description of the noble is easily missed. So, we are here to assist you with completing the Masked Correspondence quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
How to Complete Masked Corresponence in Dragon’s Dogma 2¶
To finish the Masked Correspondence quest, players will need to head to the masquerade in Vernworth Castle’s grounds. It is the small outhouse building on the southern side of the caste wall. You will need to arrive around Dusk for there to be a Masquerade going on. You’ll know one is active when musicians are around, alongside other guests wearing courtly outfits and masks.
Ensure you wear the Courtly Outfits, Leggings, and a Masquerade Mask to be in with the guests. You should have a set as part of your attempts to enter the ballroom with the Stolen Throne main storyline quest.
When you have your courtly attire and Masquerade Mask on, you can enter the ballroom and blend in with the guests. Your task now is to find Lord Patrick and hand him the letter Sven gave you. You’re looking for a man with a mask, a blue cap, and no-neck mane attire. He should look something similar to the image below. Please do not randomly give the letter to any random noble in the venue.
Once you’ve found the NPC, hand over the note, and then you can return to Sven in the castle. Once again, we recommend walking to Sven’s Room in the Marcher’s Helmet, Marcher’s Armour, and Marcher’s Leggings to avoid suspicion from the guards. It’s the same armor set you wore as part of The Caged Magistrate questline. When you arrive, you can hand in the quest and get your hands on the following rewards:
- 6000 G
- 1x Onyx (worth 2800 in Vernworth)
Once you have done that, you will complete the Masked Correspondence quest in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s a fairly simple yet easy-to-miss and fail-quest. The game doesn’t do a good job of giving your details on Lord Patrick outside of the initial conversation with Sven. So, if you’ve slept since then or skipped all dialogue, you’ll likely have trouble with this.
