Dragon’s Dogma 2 brings back one of the fan favorite Arisen-only Vocations - the Magick Archer. However, where can you unlock the Magick Archer in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and what steps do you need to take to be able to reach the Vocation maister Cliodhna? Thankfully, we have put dozens of hours into Capcom’s RPG and you can find a thorough breakdown of how to unlock one of the more unique Dragon’s Dogma 2 classes.
How to unlock the Magick Archer in Dragon’s Dogma 2¶
The Magick Archer is unlocked by completing the quest “Put A Spring In Thy Step”, which is located on the path to the Windwalker’s Home on the Volcanic Island in the south of the world map.
To access the island, you will pass through Drabnir’s Grotto and when emerging from the other side you will find Gautstafr who asks you to find some herbs for his back pain. If you have enough on you hand them over or explore the nearby area and you will find some. He will then tell you to visit his house for a reward, which is just ahead on your left.
Here you will meet Cliodhna, Gautsafr’s wife, who will encourage her husband to visit the nearby hot springs at the camp. Gautsafr isn’t too keen on going, but you can escort him, thus beginning the quest. Once you reach the hot springs, Cliodhna will teach you the ways of the Magick Archer and you can unlock it from any of the Vocation Guild spots nearby, including the one in the camp.
You will have to wait until the latter half of the game to realistically be able to reach the island, however. Upgraded gear, boosted stats, and a high-rank Vocation are all necessary to be able to defeat the bosses and tackle the challenges along the path down to the island, so don’t set your sights on grabbing this class early on.
That covers how to grab the Magick Archer class in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It is one of the harder-to-find classes as you won’t need to visit the island until extremely late in the main story, unless you decide to venture off the main path.
