Far Cry 4

Payback

By
Jarrod Garripoli

After Pagan reveals the location of Yuma on the television broadcast, it’s time to go after her. Head to the abandoned gold mine and go inside, to find that no one is there. Check out the note on the table and when you turn around, someone will be waiting for you. It looks like we are about to go on another trip, so get ready.

Once you regain control, exit the mine and just follow the stream until you come to a wall. Look up and you’ll see a grapple point, so use it to get up onto the ledge. As soon as you get up there, you’ll be armed with a bow and have to fight off Hunters while you try to figure out how to blow open the gate. Now, there’s something special about this bow, which you might have noticed if you’ve done the Shangri-La missions.

When you aim and draw back the bow, readying an arrow, time will slow down, with the orange circles on the bow acting as a meter. When there are none left, time will go back to normal and the circles will refill whenever you aren’t aiming and ready to fire. The bad thing about this portion (and the upcoming one) is that you can’t see your health, so always hide and hold the heal button to keep your health topped out.

There are urns around the arena that you can shoot to make them explode, which is how you’re going to blast open the gate.

If you’ve noticed, you can see what look like urns sitting atop pedestals. You can shoot these with your arrows and they will explode. Once you’ve cleared out the Hunters, shoot one of the urns behind the gate to blast it open. Beyond the gate will be a series of grapple points, the final of which is five of them without touching the ground.

This will lead to the final area (don’t worry about getting hit by an arrow), where you’ll have to face off with Kalinag, who fights similar to a Hunter. It’s best to hide in one of the corners and just keep an eye out for Kalinag. Hit him with an arrow, then you’ll have to perform a Takedown on him, which moves onto phase two of the battle.

Phase two is the same as the first one, except a few Hunters will appear, as well as the white tiger that you should remember when you visited Shangri-La earlier in The Protector’s Arrival. The tiger only takes one shot before it’ll disappear, but it will keep coming back. Do the same thing against Kalinag as before, then there will be one more round, which is the same as the second. The mission will end after killing Kalinag.
