Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition

Bigfoot

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Bigfoot is one of the more famous, if not the most famous, myth in San Andreas. For those who might not know, Bigfoot is an ape-like creature that is a part of North American folklore, and is said to inhabit the forests in North America. There have been many “sightings” of the creature in the wild, but nothing that definitively proves that the creature exists, both in real life and in the game. In real life, the majority of the claims of a Bigfoot sighting occur in the Pacific Northwest portion of the United States.

Origins

The “Bigfoot” name originated in 1958 or so, in California. Someone named Jerry Crew came upon a giant human-like footprint in the mud and told his coworkers about it. Other mysterious incidents were reported in the area, surrounding some happenings, with the workers there using the term “Bigfoot” to describe the mysterious individual. Later on, in 2002, family of one of the workers said that their father was responsible for the tracks, having made them with large, wooden feet. There is no evidence supporting this, though, so there is nothing disputing (or supporting) the claims of this Bigfoot.

Game

There have been many supposed sightings of an ape-like creature found in the countryside areas of San Andreas, usually in Back o’ Beyond, Shady Cabin and even on Mount Chiliad. However, there is no actual evidence of Bigfoot being in the game, as all of the footage and screenshots shown have been faked or using mods. Some people claim to have seen a figure from far away, but if they get too close, then the figure would run away from them. Very few instances, some people claim that Bigfoot would attack them, or that they can get close to the figure.
