As you reminisce in your house about your family, Big Smoke comes in and thinks you’re a burglar. However, after CJ reminds him who he is, they start talking and say they will go visit the gravesite, where CJ’s brother and sister are located. Upon finally arriving and greeting your family, it doesn’t take too long for old problems to resurface. While leaving, though, some Ballas drive up and begin shooting at you, so it’s time to get the heck out of dodge. Of course, the car you drove to the cemetery was blown up, so you will have to find another method of transportation.
Hop on the bike when you are in control and begin following Sweet. It is easy to pass him, especially if you mash the X button to pedal harder, so you might want to ease up a little bit so you don’t accidentally miss a turn or something. Sweet’s position will be represented by a blue blip on the minimap, and you will also see a blue icon over his head, so keep an eye out for them as you’re moving. Of course, at certain points, the Ballas car will appear and begin firing on you, but if you keep moving, you shouldn’t really get hit at all.
Once you reach a certain point, Sweet will split from the rest of you and you will have to follow Ryder. The same rules in regards to the marker and radar apply here, so keep an eye on things in case you get too far ahead or lag behind a little bit. Follow Ryder and you will eventually reach the cul-de-sac where your home is located. Park in the red marker to finish the mission.
You will need to enter your house to continue, so approach the front door and touch the yellow marker to head inside. There, you will see a diskette icon in the other room, which will be how you save your game. Note that saving the game will advance time by six houses, which will become important during some parts of the game. Walk back outside and as you approach the next mission, you will receive a phone call. Answer the phone with the L1 button and if you wish, you can skip the phone call with the Triangle button. Sweet just tells you about the current situation with the gangs and how the Grove Street Families aren’t what they used to be. It’s time for your next mission.
The Getting Started trophy/achievement will unlock upon completing this mission.
