If you’ve been through the Abbey of the Harrowed Sisters in Lords of the Fallen, chances are you’ve been hit in the face by a beam of Radiant Light from across the map. Well, that spell is called Lucent Beam, and yes, you can get it. However, to get this spell, you’ll need to progress Exacter Dunmire’s quest line until he requires the Umbral Tome which isn’t the easiest quest item to find. Here, we will tell you where to find the Umbral Tome, so you can purchase the ridiculously overpowered Lucent Beam spell, and get some payback.
How to Get Lucent Beam¶
Lucent Beam can be purchased from Exacter Dunmire, but he won’t sell it to you until you progress his quest line far enough to the part where he asks for the Umbral Tome. Once you’ve obtained the tome, hand it over to him, rest at the Vestige, and he’ll have moved to where Molhu is. Head over and speak to him, then exhaust his dialogue to progress the quest. Now, when you check out his wares, you’ll find Lucent Beam in there.
Where to Find the Umbral Tome for Dunmire¶
Once Exacter Dunmire has asked you to find the Umbral Tome, warp to the Vestige of Hood Antuli that is in Sunless Skeins. From the Vestige, go back on yourself toward the locked door at the end, but take the path to your left instead. Follow the tunnel until you reach the open room. There are two enslaved miners hidden behind the breakable objects down here, so take them out and then proceed to the top of the stairs.
At the top, you’ll see a wooden pulley structure with some more breakable crates underneath it. Destroy the crates, and walk to the end of the platform. Below, you’ll find a mage on the narrow wooden beams. Drop and attack it, then proceed to the end of the beams where you’ll have another wooden platform you can stand on. Now, switch over to the Umbral Realm, turn to your right and you’ll see a stone platform leading into a hole in the wall. Jump across, and Soul Flay the Umbral Belly at the back of the room to find the Umbral Tome.
With the tome in hand, head back to Exacter Dunmire in Skyrest to give him the item he requested then exhaust his dialogue. Rest at the Vestige, and he’ll move to the room where Molhu is (opposite Pieta). Talk to him again and exhaust his dialogue then check out his new wares. Here, you’ll find a couple of new spells with the most notable being Lucent Beam. Now, you can head back to the Abbey of the Harrowed Sisters, find an Abbess to try out your new spell on and beam them from across the area just like they did to you.
