Uncle's Bad Day

With the barn now fully built, head to the back of it to speak to Uncle and begin the mission. Following the heavy drinking by all three men, you awake the next day to find Uncle missing. Charles notices signs that the Skinners have been here and the two of you take off you rescue him.

Follow the marker up to Tall Trees and then the two of you will stash your horses in the marked area. Be sure to take a rifle as part of your loadout alongside the bow, you’ll need it for later in the mission. As you begin to search the area, you’ll come across two skinners waiting for you, use the bow and enter Dead Eye to make sure you score both of the headshots (if you shoot normally then Charles will kill one). Ignore the wagon that passes by next and then you’ll follow another wagon dragging a man behind it, when it stops and the Skinner gets out, headshot him with the bow. Continue on to the boulder and take out your binoculars, you’ll see the poor Uncle near the campfire. In the scene that follows, Charles saves John just in time and then you’ll enter Dead Eye, wait for the marker to hover over the Skinner’s head and pull the trigger.

Stealth is out the window now but keep to your position on this boulder, it’s a great vantage point. If you’ve yet to finish scoring headshots with the bow, use Dead Eye to score any remaining ones you need and then switch to the rifle to take out the rest of the Skinners around the camp. If you find yourself taking too much damage, head down and take cover behind one of the crates. Once they’re all dead, take the time to restore your Dead Eye before cutting Uncle free.

The boulder is a great vantage point for the camp (left), use quick bursts of Dead Eye to score fast kills. (right)

Charles will now carry Uncle while John escorts the pair of them back to their horses. You’ll have to stay on the move if you want to return to Beecher’s Hope within 3 minutes 10 seconds for the Gold Medal. Keep walking forward and you’ll be attacked from up high to the left and right so use brief bursts of Dead Eye to score a headshot and continue on, repeating this up until you reach the horses. Mount up yourself and follow Charles, taking care of any pursuers that you can without jeopardizing your accuracy. Once you’re free of Tall Trees, gallop as fast as you can back to Beecher’s Hope to complete the mission and get Uncle the help he needs.
