The Battle Pass from the Chapter 2 - Age of War update in Conan Exiles brings a host of new items to the game, ranging from cosmetic outfits to clan emblems, unique treasure chests, bonus Crom Coins, wall decorations, crafting item skins, statues, tapestries, war paints, weapons, and more. There are a total of 60 unlockable battle pass tiers, and you can unlock those tiers by completing challenges in the game, which will grant you challenge XP. Each battle pass tier has a specific threshold of challenge XP to unlock, thereby granting you access to the associated item. On this page, we’ll explain all you need to know about how to unlock the battle pass, how to get Crom Coins and tips for completing the challenges. We’ll also detail all of the battle pass rewards on offer, including which tier you need to obtain them.
How to Unlock the Age of War Battle Pass¶
The Chapter 2 - Age of War Battle Pass can be unlocked in the same way as the previous ones, by purchasing Crom Coins. If you’ve already got a bunch of these from a previous Battle Pass they will carry over, so you can gain access to most of the new rewards without having to pay anything more.
Where to Get Crom Coins¶
Unfortunately, there’s only one way to get enough Crom Coins to unlock all of the Battle Pass tiers, and that’s by paying with real-life money. There are currently two main options for purchasing the Battle Pass which consist of a regular purchase for 1,200 Crom Coins, or a premium purchase for 3,000 Crom Coins. The former will cost you £8.49 for 1,200 Crom Coins, and the latter £29.39 for 5,040 Crom Coins (or whatever the equivalent is in your local currency). If you purchase the premium version, you’ll unlock 15 tiers of the Battle Pass automatically. Otherwise, you’ll need to gain those levels by completing challenges as usual.
The only other way you can get Crom Coins in Conan Exiles is by reaching specific tiers in the Battle Pass, but since these tiers are locked behind the Battle Pass itself, you need to buy into the system either way. If you’re not bothered about the cosmetics, you can be on your merry way and enjoy the game regardless. If you are, read on to find out more.
Completing Battle Pass Daily Challenges¶
The challenge system can be engaged in without participating in the Battle Pass, but it’s also a requirement if you want to progress through the Battle Pass tiers and gain the rewards from it. There are five main challenges that you’ll see on the challenges tab, and all of these reset every 24 hours. That means you have a limited amount of time to complete them, and although they can help to provide a sense of direction in the game, they don’t always consist of challenges that are viable for your level, or even enjoyable. You’ll often see the same types of challenges popping up throughout any given week.
To give you an idea of what you can expect from the challenges, you can see what we were given on the day of writing this guide. We had to skin five crocodiles, craft an armor piece, harvest 10 Bloodstone, kill five Purge enemies, and harvest 10 Black Ice. As you can see, much of this revolves around the gathering and crafting systems, but there are also challenges that encourage you to explore different aspects of the game, such as the purge system. You can read more about how this works on our How the Purge Works in Chapter 2 page.
Re-Rolling Daily Challenges¶
You may find that you encounter some of the resources that you’ve been asked to harvest as you explore the game naturally, or you may stumble upon the creatures that you’ve been asked to skin, such as the crocodiles in our example. With this in mind, you can approach the challenge system as an added bonus, which helps you work towards unlocking specific rewards every now and then. However, if you’re a dedicated player and you want to complete all challenges as soon as they’re available, you may find yourself getting these out of the way first at the beginning of a gaming session.
Battle Pass Challenge XP¶
As mentioned above, you can complete challenges without engaging with the Battle Pass at all if you wish. However, so long as you have the Battle Pass active you’ll earn XP for each challenge that you complete. In this way, you can get some of the rewards from the Battle Pass for free since some require no Crom Coins to unlock, but these are limited and you won’t be able to choose which ones you get for free. At the same time, if you continue to complete challenges and earn massive amounts of XP, but only later unlock the Battle Pass, all of that XP will count towards your progress with the Battle Pass. So, in theory, you can gain access to all of the Battle Pass rewards instantly, so long as you have enough XP when you purchase it.
