Lions are a popular choice for pets in many games, including Conan Exiles. They are powerful pets that can easily guard your base or go exploring with you. Sadly, Lion Cubs are quite hard to find as they only spawn in specific spots on both maps. The guide below goes over where you can find Lion Cubs, how to tame them, adult Lion variants, and what their stats are.
Lion Stats and Growth¶
Lions are a mid to late-game pet that you can find in both maps. To get a Lion, you must capture a Lion Cub. These are found mixed in with full-grown Lions, making them dangerous to collect. To get a single Lion cub, you will end up fighting several adult Lions. You will also need to run up and pick the cub up to place it in your inventory. This is the only way to get a Lion in the game, as they don’t come from eggs. Once you have a Lion Cub, you will need to place them in an Animal Pen, along with some meat, to start the taming process. There are two different varieties of Lions. The basic Lion and the Greater Lion. There is also a DLC Elite Black Lion that could be obtained by using Sorcerous Pet Food. This was part of the Age of Sorcery: Chapter 2 Battle Pass. The table below goes over their stats.
Lion Variant | Armor | Damage | Health | Grit Armor Bonus | Vitality Health Bonus |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lion | 69 | 0 | 389 | 16 | 70 |
Greater Lion | 200 | 0 | 774 | 16 | 116 |
The chance of which variant you get will depend on the type of meat placed in the Animal Pen. The highest chance you can have to get a Greater Lion is 25%. You achieve this by placing Shadespiced Raw Tough Meat in the Animal Pen. All Lions come with ten inventory slots, and you can provide them stat buffs by placing meat in their inventory. This is an excellent pet to leave guarding your base or to take out with you while exploring. Just keep in mind that getting one most likely won’t be possible with a low-level character and basic gear.
Lions will have a starting attribute of one Grit with a 7% boost to Agility Damage and Strength Damage. Greater Lions will start with three Strength and eight Grit. They have a 10% boost to Agility Damage and Strength Damage. Like all Pets, Lions will level up to 20 when you allow them to follow you and fight. The stats they gain are left up to RNG. You can check your Lion’s stats at any time by going to the stat section of the interaction wheel.
Lion Cub Exiled Lands Locations¶
Lion Cubs are a bit hard to find in the Exiled Lands as they won’t spawn with the adult Lion located near the center Savannah area. To find a Lion Cub, you will need to go to the line dividing map Sections 10A and 10B. Here, you will find a Lion lounging on a rock and a Lion Cub roaming behind him. Keep in mind that Lions are considered mini-bosses, so you will have quite a fight on your hands.
Lion Cub the Isle of Siptah Locations¶
There is only one small part in the southern part of Siptah where Lions can spawn. You will need to head to the southern island and go to map Section 5K. You can usually find a single Lion Cub roaming around, but the grass will often hide them. In addition, several adult lions spawn here, and the area is a bit small, making combat a little tougher than in the Exiled Lands.
