Warhammer 40000: Darktide

How to get Plasteel in Darktide

By
Craig Robinson

Plasteel is one of the currencies players can get their hands on in Darktide. It is a slightly rare currency, which players can use in the crafting feature, useful for upgrading the tiers of their items, and then modifying the traits on them. The result is that it offers some level of control of their gear, which players should spend their time searching for. Here is a closer look at the Plasteel currency in Darktide.

Here is a quick look at how to get Plasteel in Darktide.

How to get Plsteel in Darktide

Plasteel is often found in the lootable chests and boxes in Darktide. Players who take their time to explore the maps, and loot those chests will have much higher chances to get the currency. Moreso, it’s not a race between players to get the currency, either. Anyone who picks up the Plasteel for their team will grant the same amount to their allies in a game. Note the currency is not shared, so playing with less players will not grant you more of the currency, which is worth noting if you intend to play a level solo or in private matches when those lobbies are available.

If you want the best opportunities to get this resource, then you will need to explore every nut and cranny, and open those boxes for the loot at the end of the mission. This is the common material you will find in these boxes, and will be used for most of the basic crafting and crafting upgrades you can do in Darktide. You can also find it lying around on the floors, similarly to the random spots you can find Scriptures and Grimoires. As you can see, your progression will now rely on you checking any boxes you come across, and not just looking for ammo or med packs.

How to use Plasteel in Darktide

Plasteel is useable in the crafting process and upgrading of items. Players will use this for most of their basic functions, including the Consecrate function, which allows you to upgrade an items’ tier, and the stat modify function. It will be pretty much used for everything crafting-related. However, players will also need the rarer Diamantine for the really good upgrades as well, which is another one of Darktide’s lootable currencies.
