Pay attention to how the enemy moves, the Illusion ability some units have, and what skills the enemy has. The trend of promoted units frequenting the map continues. It will get harder and harder to level up units who are trailing behind. You might want to consider benching your weakest units if they simply can’t catch up so you can focus your experience on to your more abled fighters. We have to let go sometimes!
As mentioned before, some Kitsunes and Nine-Tails here have the Illusion ability. When in Illusion mode, enemies cannot be targeted for attack. But they can attack you . I know, super cheap, right? You can tell who is an Illusion by seeing a little green leaf on their sprite (and also if you try to attack them and the “Attack” command doesn’t appear). Enemies can freely move around when in Illustion mode, so you have more to lose than they do. When they switch their Illusion mode off, then is the time to defeat them.
Many of the enemies have Pass , meaning they can slip through walls you set up with your units. Beastbane allows the foes to inflict extra damage on anyone who is mounted on a horse or wyvern.
At the start of this battle, some units will rush your position right off the bat. Take out this initial rush of enemies and then we can push forward. Make sure to note which enemies in their frontlines have abilities like Pass or Beastbane and which hold Beastrunes, which are more powerful Beaststones. While most of the Kitsune are squishy, any of them holding a Beastrune will be much tankier and be harder to take down!
After you endure the inital rush, move everyone north. Note that while enemies will not rush you, luring one enemy will cause everyone else to follow (gotta stick together, right?). Let them attack your strongest units, then mop up. Once that is done, take your team west and hold the bridge, using it to funnel enemies that come to you. This is a great place to get some easy experience for lower level ranged units, as you can bar the bridge and attack enemies from a safe zone. Make sure to watch the waters though, since the Kitsune can slowly traverse it!
Continue west and north, pushing up to the boss slowly and surely. Don’t hesitate to take a couple of turns to position yourself for Kaden and his two allies’ attack, watching the two allies’ Illusion pattern. Once you attack Kaden , his two allies will attack at the same time, so try to take care of Kaden during your phase.
