Description¶
The Diablos is a flying wyvern that resides in the scorching Desert. Although a herbivore by nature, it is very aggressive and loves a good brawl. Its distinguishing feature is its humongous pair of frontal horns, which it uses to ram into and skewer attackers.

Key Attacks¶
Charge : The Diablos lowers its horns and stampedes towards the hunter. Fast and brutal, this attack is only more terrifying when the Diablos is enraged.
Body Slam : The Diablos hops back and turns side on, notable by the way its head is looking, before slamming its weight forward.
Tail Whip : Diablos spins its tail around itself, normally a few times. A typical Wyvern attack, but notably dangerous due to the Diablos’ tail barb.
Tail Slam : The Diablos raises its tail and slams it down twice, once to the left and again to the right.
Tunnel : The Diablos tunnels underneath the ground and then moves around, underneath a hunter, and then bursts from the ground in an upward motion.
Recommended Strategy¶
The Diablos’ tail can be devestating, and any time you’re near the beast you need to keep an eye on it. The usual ‘attack the legs’ is a viable tactic, however the Diablos uses charge attacks with much greater frequency than a Rathian or Rathalos, and it can be easy to find yourself trampled frequently.
You’re recommended, therefore, to focus on one/two hit then dodge movements, staying roughly under the Diablos’ bum, moving with him.
The moment you see Diablos start to grunt black smoke he is enraged, and your job is now to run. The Diablos is fast enough in his normal state, but in his enraged state he is terrifying! Keep your distance, run around him, and wait for the state to pass.
A fight against a Diablos will be long simply due to his resistances and power against things like traps, but play carefully and you should find victory.
