Key Attacks

Barrel Roll : The Purple Ludroth will turn side on, looking at the hunter, and then roll over itself in a steamroller fashion.

Charge : The Purple Ludroth with screech and charge towards the hunter

Poisonball : The Purple Ludroth will pull its head back and then lunge it forward, launching a blob of Poison at the hunter. May fire three, one straight, one left and one right.

Poisonball Charge : The Purple Ludroth charges towards the hunter, throwing water blobs left and right. You want to try and slip in between the side of the Ludroth and its projectiles.

Poison Slam : The Purple Ludroth will raise up and then slam its body down to the ground, causing a large Poison ‘explosion’ in front of it.

Recommended Strategy

The best place to attack the Purple Ludroth is on its side, around its mane or tail.

You do not want to attack the Purple Ludroth around its midriff simply because this gives you further to move in order to avoid the beast’s Barrel Roll move. That’s the first move you need to learn to identify, too, as it can occur often and send you flying on hit.

Focus on dealing damage and constantly moving away from potential Barrel Roll range, moving back in to attack once you’ve ascertained that the Purple Ludroth isn’t going to roll or charge.

The Purple Ludroth’s claw attacks are extra dangerous due to their ability to inflict poison so you’re recommended to attack its tail, simply to keep them further away. Due to the Poison slam you want to stay as far away from the front of the beast as possible at all times.
