How to Invade in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

How to Unlock PvP Invasions in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

The first thing you should know about invasions in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is that you won’t be able to unlock them until you beat a specific boss in Part 2 of the main story - AD 184, Delusion. This will bring you to The Demon Fort of the Yellow Heaven, where you’ll encounter the boss named Zhang Jiao. You can then go to any Battle Flag or Marker Flag and navigate to the Online Lobby menu, then select Invade at the bottom (below Recruit and Co-op).

You’ll be able to see a number of available worlds from other players that you can invade at this point, showing their gamertag or player number, level, and the battleground where you can fight them. The battleground will usually relate to a nearby field of part which you’ve already covered in the story, but you’ll sometimes see options to fight players in other parts of the game world, so long as you have the correct settings enabled (more on that below!).

How to Turn PvP Invasions Off in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

If you don’t fancy being interrupted by other player invasions while you’re playing Wo Long, you can turn this feature off for yourself from the Online Settings menu. Here you’ll find an option for “Invasions by Hostile Players”, and all you need to do is select “Do not allow”.

You can also change the locations from which you can invade or be invaded in this menu via the “Matching Area” option, which you can set to “No restriction”, “Only in nearby areas”, or “Only in same area”. This provides you with a bit more control over the type of invasions you can perform, or the level of players that might invade you, but it can also reduce the number of invasions since you’re more dependent on nearby players in some cases.

In general, invasions from other players can provide a new dynamic to the game which makes it feel ever more exciting, knowing that an already reasonably tough game can be made even tougher. However, if you’re new to souls-like games and you don’t want to bother with the hassle of being invaded, or you just want some time to properly learn the mechanics of the game first, you’ll probably benefit from turning this off for a while.

(1 of 5) You can interact with most Battle and Marker Flags to find the Online Lobby.
