If you’ve started playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, you will soon be aware that the mechanics are certainly in depth, with many of your stats being influenced not only by weapons and armour, but also the Virtues you’ll be levelling.
One of, if not the most important mechanic though is deflecting, allowing you to both negate damage from incoming attacks and leaving your opponents open for a quick counter. However, there have been many reports of deflecting not working in Wo Long and we’ve got the answer as to why this occurs.
This guide will detail all on this so if you are having trouble with it, you’ll know how you can get it sorted nice and quickly.
Wo Long Deflect Not Working Fix¶
If you’re sure you know exactly how to parry, or as they call it in Wo Long deflect, and you’re not getting any successes, you may also be experiencing a very common problem that many players are facing.
However, this has nothing to do with glitches, bugs, or anything else of that ilk, instead, it’s actually a game mechanic that has purposely been implemented.
The reason why your Wo Long deflect is not working is actually because your equipment load has exceeded 100%. When this occurs, you likely won’t be able to deflect at all, and instead, your character will attempt a dodge, obviously not ideal if you’re aiming to use a parry strategy against a boss.
So, to mitigate this and get your deflect back in Wo Long, what you’ll need to do is either unequip some of those heavier weapon or armour, or level your stats so that your character uses less Spirit when attempting a deflect.
We recommend that you definitely aim to increase your max weight limit right away, regardless if you’re opting to swap out weapons and armour to eliminate the deflect not working problem completely. To do this, you’re going to want to pump your Qi into the Earth Virtue, levelling it as much as you can, as this has a direct effect on your weight limit, raising it faster than any other Virtue.
