Over the coming pages we will be taking a closer look at the character attributes in Cyberpunk 2077 including what does what and where you should be focusing your upgrades first.

Cyberpunk 2077 Body Attribute

Body determines your raw physical power, in additional to allowing you to force open doors, each level of Body (starting from level 3) will:

Body
Add 5 Health Points
Add 3 Stamina Points
Increase damage with fists and Gorilla Arms by 3
Increase damage with melee weapons by 1.5%
Decrease movement penalty while grabbing an enemy and wielding an HMG by 5%.
Increase movement while grappling an enemy and enemy grapple duration by 5 sec.

Your Body attribute also determines the maximum level your Athletics, Annihilation and Street Brawler skill can reach.

The Body skill is for players who want to make use of shotguns, machine guns (principally light machine guns, as heavier variants are limited-use items) and blunt weapons, including fisticuffs. In the world of Cyberpunk, where you can get cybernetically augmented “Gorilla Arms” to give yourself the punching power of a battering ram, pugilism isn’t quite the throwaway combat option you may be inclined to regard it as. While shotguns are awfully potent weapons, one should keep in mind that none of the weapons influenced by the Body attribute have terribly long range, and few lend themselves to stealth, if those are things you’re looking for. As for Athletics, it’s a skill with more general abilities, many of which enhance your Health, Health regen and Stamina. Every character can benefit from these boosts, and fortunately you can get access to numerous useful perks with little to no investment.

In addition to leveling Body skills and buying perks, your Body attribute will allow you to install a variety of cyberware that increases your survivability. Blood Pumps function as an infinitely replenishing potion (with a cooldown), Bioconductors reduces cyberware cooldowns, Biomonitors will automatically heal you when your Health drops to 15%, various skeleton cyberware will increase your Health, Stamina or carrying capacity, and the unique Second Heart cyberware will fully heal you when you Health hits 0. Perhaps most importantly for build considerations, many high-tier Berserk operating systems have a Body requirement.

All in all, Body increases your ability to deal damage with a variety of (mostly) close range weapons, and increases your durability so you can survive engaging at such close quarters. This will earn you the Autojock Trophy.
