The Beast in Me

There are several ways the questline The Beast in Me can end, and your rewards are determined by the resolution of the quest. The first important choice you’ll have to make is during the subquest The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, and whatever outcome you ultimately opt for, you should consider picking the following dialogue options, as they’ll give you more choices later without locking you into anything:

After the Santo Domingo qualifier, you’ll have to refuse to help sate Claire’s bloodlust.

  • “Sorry, Claire, but I can’t help.”
    • “Okay, I’ll still drive. But only to win.”

You’ll make this choice after finishing the qualifying race during The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, when talking to Claire immediately after the race.

After that, you’ll continue with the quest The Beast in Me: The Big Race. During this race, don’t worry about “winning” and instead just settle for loosely trailing Samson. At around the twenty-fifth checkpoint his vehicle will get damaged and he’ll abandon the race and you’ll get to choose to follow him or finish the race. Your actions decide this, there’s no dialogue here.

If you follow the race’s guide arrows and finish the race, you should earn about €$4,000 and the quest will end. Alternatively, if you follow Samson and confront him with Claire after he crashes, you’ll get to make some timed dialogue choices. Most of them are one-option “choices” - either you answer or you don’t. If you don’t respond in time Claire will kill Samson, if you do, she won’t, provided you picked the correct dialogue options (listed above) at the end of The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo. Finally you’ll get one more timed dialogue option with two choices:

Abandon the race and chase Samson and you’ll get a chance to determine Samson’s fate.

  • “Yeah. Let him go.”
  • “Do what you have to do.”

If you pick “Do what you have to do.”, or you did not pick the aforementioned dialogue choices at the end of The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Claire will kill Samson. If you pick “Yeah. Let him go.” and made the correct dialogue choices at the end of The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Claire will spare Samson.

If you abandoned the race to confront Samson, Claire will give you the Mackinaw “Beast” at the end of the quest, regardless of what happened to Samson. If you confront Samson with Claire and Samson survives the encounter, he’ll message you a week later and give you the Type-66 “Cthulhu” - the vehicle he drove during The Beast in Me: The Big Race.

Your reward for helping out Claire and keeping Samson alive are their two respective race cars.
