Metaphor: ReFantazio

Seeker

By
Echo Apsey

The Seeker is one of the most basic Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantazio. It is canonically the Protagonist’s Archetype. It is the first Archetype you earn in the game and acts as a attack focused archetype dealing Wind magic, buffing that attack strength, and healing single targets where needed.

With enough investment, the Seeker can be improved and enhanced into its Adept and Elite forms: Magic Seeker and Soul Hacker. However, the Seeker is what most will start of using during the game’s first month of so and it is a solid Archetype to begin your adventure with. It is weak to fire attacks and resistant to other Wind attacks.

How to unlock the Seeker Archetype

The Seeker Archetype is unlocked automatically as a part of the story at the Northern Border Fort during the game’s opening events. In the Fort, the power of the Seeker will awaken and this will become your default Archetype.

Following that event, you will befriend More in Akademeia and be able customize your archetypes further and equip the Seeker on your other party members.

The power of the Seeker is one of many Archetypes you unlock through the main story.

While equipping the Seeker onto the Protagonist won’t cost any additional MAG, if you want to equip the Seeker on your other party members you will need to spend MAG.

Seeker Skills

The Seeker has access to six basic Skills, which are unlocked between rank 1-20:

  • Cyc - Deals weak magic Wind damage to one enemy (4 MP)
  • Dei - Weak HP recovery for one ally (4 MP)
  • Tarukaja - Increases one ally’s attack for 3 turns (8 MP)
  • Sweeping Slash - Deals week physical slash damage to one enemy [unlocked at Rank 09]
  • Cyclo - Deals medium magic Wind damage to one enemy [unlocked at Rank 15]
  • Tetrabreak - Negates one enemy’s Repel physical skill [Unlocked at Rank 20]

All of these skills have their uses, but generally the wind damage can be exceptionally strong against enemies early in the game. Additionally, Tarukaja offers another damage type to attack with. Dei also has its uses acting as another method of healing beyond items and the Mage or Healer classes.

Seeker Synthesis Skills

The Seeker also has access to 7 different Synthesis Skills depending on which Archetypes your party members are using:

  • Rider of the Blade - Deals heavy physical Light damage to one enemy (5 MP) [Allies needed: Knight, Healer, or Commander Lineages]
  • Horse-Drawn Carnage - Deals heavy physical damage to one enemy (5 MP) [Allies needed: Warrior, Brawler, or Berserker Lineages]
  • Gacyc - Requires Cyc Skill. Deals weak magic damage to all enemies (6 MP) [Seeker, Mage, or Healer Lineages]
  • Matarukaja - Requires Tarukaja Skill. Increases all allies’ attack for 3 turns (18 MP) [Allies needed: Seeker, Knight, or Commander Lineages]
  • Adventurer’s Curiosity - Requires Cyclo Skill. Increases critical rate for all allies for 3 turns (8 MP) [Allies needed: Gunner, Masked Dancer, or Berserker Lineages]
  • Gacyclo - Deals medium magic Wind damage to all enemies (10 MP) [Allies needed: Seeker, Mage, or Healer Lineages]
  • Tetrabreak - Negates one enemy’s repel physical skill (18 MP) [ Allies needed: Thief, Faker, or Merchant Lineages]

This is one of many Archetypes in the game that cover a variety of elements, abilities, and fighting styles from traditional ranged fighters to melee brawlers. Some Archetypes even have unique functions like spending money when using skills. To progress this Lineage, you will need to grow closer with More and complete his requests that he sets you periodically in Akademeia. So, be sure to keep an eye on his requests focused around Archetypes and try to complete them where you can.
