First featured in Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and then Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Pokke makes a nostalgic return to Generations as one of four major hub villages. Clad in icy snow, Pokke’s nearest region is the Arctic Ridge.
Unlike Bherna Village, there aren’t any absolutely crucial NPCs. But there’s still a few important people you should get acquainted with. Similar to all four hub villages and the hunter’s prep area, the necessary areas (smithy, kitchen, market, your house, etc.) are all present.
The Grandmeow is right by the entrance and she has a similar job to the Meowstress, except it feels a little less like slavery and more like she’s scouting Palicos who are actually interested in working for hunters because she herself is a Felyne. Just like with the Meowstress you can scout for Palicos and then pay zenny to hire.
The Pokke Chief is sitting by the quest gate in front of a fire. Given her age, gotta make sure she stays warm! She won’t be there to progress the solo campaign too much for you, but she will give you a veritable swarm of village requests, and will also reward you handsomely for finishing them up!
The Cave Cattendant guards a mysterious location aptly called Mystery Cave . There’s not going to be much to it, but if you defeat Gammoth in the 5-star solo campaign quest tier, you will be able to mine up fragments of an ancient sword, which can become fancy weapons and armor for you to use. So until then, you can skip Mystery Cave as your favored tourist destination.
Just like the other three hub villages, several characters from previous games will pop up. Special mention goes to the Funky Felyne from 4 Ultimate. Who doesn’t love a good cat-fro? Just make sure he doesn’t poke through your item box again! Most of these characters will have village requests to bury you under, but you can talk to them anytime if you want to relive those good memories.
