Monster Hunter Generations

4-star Quests

By
Vincent Lau

Welcome to High Rank! Exclusive to the online (with the exception of the village advanced quests), High Rank presents more challenges for you to face. Deviant Quests after a certain level will become High Rank and become gated to players who have reached High Rank.

High Rank monsters hit harder and sometimes might even have new attacks. The materials they drop will be special (Scales vs Scales+, for example), and this means you can make new armor . High Rank armor has much higher defense and will be deonated with the letter “S” tacked on to the end of the armor name. You can also fight Hyper Monsters here (check the Bestiary for coverage) and unlock the “R” series of armor made from Hyper Monsters. These new nifty-keen materials will also give you new weapon upgrades. You can also gather new High Rank-only materials that you will need, such as Carbalite Ore.

Within this High Rank are several new (well, they were in other Monster Hunter games, so old) areas you have never been in before (in this game), such as Ancestral Steppe, Primeval Forest, and Frozen Seaway, to name a few.

So have some fun and enjoy the newfound challenge.
