Monster Hunter Generations

5-star Other Quests

By
Vincent Lau

5-star tier is a tier where the quest number has calmed down a bit, but there are still plenty of quests left for you to do even if they aren’t key quests or village requests. So you should do them!

Trifecta of Terror

Objective: Hunt 3 Nibelsnarf

Location: Dunes

Subquest: None

Notes: You’ve already defeated one Nibelsnarf, so now it’s time to defeat three. This quest operates similar to Hunt-a-thons. Only one Nibelsnarf will appear at a time, and with severely gimped health it shouldn’t be hard to defeat. Shortly after you defeat one, the next Nibelsnarf will spawn, and so on until you’ve reached three. Easy!

Garuga of the Hills

Objective: Hunt a Yian Garuga

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: Mount and topple monster twice

Notes: This quest is unstable, so it might be a little bit more dangerous than the urgent quest you just had to handle. But otherwise it operates the exact same, and since you’ve already defeated one to get to 5-star in the first place, you can definitely handle another one.

Fungus Fetch

Objective: Deliver 10 Unique Mushrooms or a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Verdant Hills

Subquest: Sever Rathian’s tail

Notes: The wording is very confusing, but basically you’re want to go ahead and deliver 10 Unique Mushrooms, rather than believing the Paw Pass Ticket will magically show up. Beware the Rathian, and chop her tail if you’d like, or just go ahead and defeat her altogether for the carves.

Two Roars in the Snow

Objective: Hunt 2 Blangongas

Location: Arctic Ridge

Subquest: Mount and topple monster twice

Notes: If you didn’t like the sound of one Blangonga in the previous Blangonga quest, then you’re going to hate this one! Be sure to bring Dung Bombs, as their paths are probably going to intersect. And if you’re royally unlucky, they’ll follow each other around, too!

Double Vision

Objective: Hunt 2 Malfestio

Location: Deserted Island

Subquest: None

Notes: Continuing the trend of double-monster quests after defeating one monster in a previous tier quest, you now get to hunt two Malfestio instead of one! Again, bring Dung Bombs.

Completing this quest rewards you with a new Hunter Art.

Behind Closed Ores

Objective: Slay 10 Bullfango before time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Marshlands

Subquest: Hunt a Najarala

Notes: For a 5-star quest, this is incredibly boring. You’ve only done like 9,000+ small monster quests, so this should be easy, right? You should Hunt the Najarala to spice things up, too. The Paw Pass Ticket won’t show up until you have defeated 10 Bullfango, by the way.

Great Knuckleballs o Fire!

Objective: Hunt 2 Volvidon

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Yet another double-monster quest after a string of single Volvidon quests. So this should be easy.

Hunt-a-thon: Iodrome

Objective: Hunt 2 Iodrome before time expires or deliver a Paw Pass Ticket

Location: Volcano

Subquest: Slay 20 Ioprey

Notes: Rounding off the set of Hunt-a-thons, you finally have access to the Iodrome’s hunt-a-thon. If you need Iodrome materials, this is the quest for you!

Envoy to Disaster

Objective: Slay 10 Remobras

Location: Volcano

Subquest: None

Notes: Remobra are Snake Wyverns and they are the blue and yellow critters with giant wings you see flying around. In order to lure them out of the air (if you’re a Blademaster), put down some Raw Meat. Or, if you manage to kill one, let the dead carcass sit there. Other Remobra will come to feast since they are cannibals. Kill 10 to call it quest complete!

A Late Jurassic Excursion

Objective: Hunt all large monsters (Great Maccao, Yian Kut-Ku, Malfestio)

Location: Jurassic Frontier

Subquest: Earn 700 Wycademy Points

Notes: These types of quests are often dubbed epic hunt quests . None of the monsters will show up simultaneously; instead, they show up back to back as you defeat them. This results in the monsters having slashed health for a quicker kill. These quests are idea for gathering a diverse range of materials.

A Sandy Battle Royale

Objective: Hunt all large monsters (Gendrome, Cephadrome, Nibelsnarf)

Location: Dunes

Subquest: Earn 700 Wycademy Points

Notes: These types of quests are often dubbed epic hunt quests . None of the monsters will show up simultaneously; instead, they show up back to back as you defeat them. This results in the monsters having slashed health for a quicker kill. These quests are idea for gathering a diverse range of materials.

Scientific Method

Objective: Hunt all large monsters (Arzuros, Tetsucabra, Daimyo Hermitaur)

Location: Deserted Island

Subquest: Earn 700 Wycademy Points

Notes: These types of quests are often dubbed epic hunt quests . None of the monsters will show up simultaneously; instead, they show up back to back as you defeat them. This results in the monsters having slashed health for a quicker kill. These quests are idea for gathering a diverse range of materials.
