Tips¶
You’ve reached the absolute pinnacle of cooking, but there’s one more dish to cook before you can truly put away your frying pan.
Have a word with Alfredo in his bistro and he’ll challenge you to cook a Ghastly Stew , using ingredients found in Tortuga Archipelago’s Nautilus Cave.
The main ingredient, the Ghost Meat , is dropped by the Undead Captain, found towards the north or south side of the cave. This ghoulish mini-boss can be tricky for underpowered Cooks, so switch over to a combat Life if you can.
For its attacks, it may slash once with its sword or spin around to cause damage, then finish with a sword wave ahead. It may also gather five ghostly flames in front of itself, before launching them forward in a wide arc.
When the captain charges up power, it will spin around with larger range than usual, while also shooting ghostly flames around itself. Most of its attacks are hard to avoid because of the small battlefield, so keep a watchful eye on your HP at all times.
As for the Ghost Shells , these can occasionally be found from the shells on the floor of the cavern. Annoyingly, you need Luck to find them. If necessary, leave the cave and visit the nearby Shipwreck before coming back to respawn the shells.
When you’ve got all the ghastly ingredients on the table, cooking the Ghastly Stew itself should be a cinch.
For reference, the optimum crafting setup is to maximise your Crafting Special Skill rate so you can use your God Skill ASAP to cook the dish in one fell swoop.
You can achieve this with a Phoenix Frying Pan crafted with an Ancient Stone+ (dropped by Giant Mimics in the Trial of Time) and a God Material (eg. Love Orb) to get Crafting S. Skill rate +35% on top of the natural +25%.
Then to further boost the Crafting Special Skill rate, see if you can snag Leilah’s Floral Circlet (rate +25%) from the Elderwood Village Goddess Statue and get yourself a Sun Ring (rate x2) from the Exchange Clerk in Pam’s House.
